VW Warranty nightmare!

Stans power Paint in Markham.
I went to read their reviews and saw that you already got to them.
Hopefully they do right by you - weird that a body shop that the dealership trusts would do shoddy work like this.
Wonder if they will allow you to pick a body shop of your choosing to get this addressed.

Speaking of which - @mimico_polak , they they ever get around to doing your tint correctly?

Nope. We went back and forth, and they offered me 50% of the rear window replacement. I told them to politely eff off....and now OMVIC is on the case. I've submitted all the documentation, photos, and emails with the dealership to them, and now they're working on it.

Each time I've spoken to OMVIC (email or call) they make sure to reiterate 'we cannot force the dealership to actually fix this issue' but we will mediate. Following mediation, if unsuccessful, you can go to small claims court.

Vw group are pure liars, I have had failed motors in Audi and VW. i will never buy any product from them again anywhere in the world.
Pure bottom feeder company

That's F'n bullsh!t. Next time ask them how they can accomplish their mandate (from their web page) if they have no control over the dealers:

As the regulator of motor vehicle sales in Ontario, OMVIC’s mandate is to maintain a fair and informed marketplace by protecting the rights of consumers, enhancing industry professionalism and ensuring fair, honest and open competition for registered motor vehicle dealers.

Like TICO, it looks a lot like a pretend blanket organization so they can avoid oversight from a body that can actually fix things (as the fixes cost the members money, they are advertised as being great but in reality are completely inadequate).

And I quote from the most recent email I received...

Thank you for the response. I will open the file for mediation and contact the dealership shortly. I do want to let you know that this is mediation and I do not replace the court system, I cannot force a dealership into a resolution. Should the two parties cannot find an agreement through this service. The most common next step is to pursue the matter civilly. It is my hope that we can avoid that. Also want to mentation that the average timeframe for mediation is 30-45 business days. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I hope that we can resolve the issue considering the damage caused...however I'm realistic and feel like this will be a dog and pony show with nothing to go with in the end. Not sure if I'll bother going to court for $500 (as they offered $500 already) for the rear window replacement.

As it stands my side windows are tinted, the rear window is not, and my WRX is STILL sitting at the dealership unsold.

Why is the wrx still not sold!?
Probably because it's overpriced! LoL Personally I was expecting to get low 20s as an offer for the car when I traded it in. ON PAPER(!) they gave me the same trade in value as I bought it for 6 months prior...

That car was great. I'd still take it back if they offered to swap the Volt.

EDIT: just checked...it's still listed.

why did you get rid of the WRX to start with? - If you need the tint done, I recently used SRS Tints in Mississauga to go full ceramic and PPF last week, they did a great job and well priced. I'm sure they could do the rear window.

Wait

I have owned multiple brands and the only one that has given me absolutely zero issues is the Mazda
Having rented multiple cars the last few years, the new Mazad's are the only thing I would consider going forward. Very well done interiors and quality, great fuel MPG with Skyactive. One thing the Euro cars do well are interiors, even a Focus RS is like a fisher price toy inside. As much as I looked at Subbies, the interiors were complete 90's, all plastic, and for day to day living would annoy me. From what I know, Mazda ranked more reliable than Toyota recently as-well.

@ScorpionT16 my job changed home offices from downtown to Scarborough. Not sure about you but I was NOT in the mood to drive from 403/Mavis to 401/McCowan with a 6 speed…as fun as it may be.

EDIT: my original commute was from my house to GO station for a total of 3km….

Plus filling a full tank with premium every week could get old fast.

Tint was done at Audio Heaven and I’ve always had good work there. Will never go elsewhere again.

Ah okay, makes sense, how come you mentioned you'd take it back if they traded for the Volt? I'm out of the loop on the Volt story

AH looks like an awesome place, lifetime warranty is great, all I got is 10years

Just bullcrap issues with the dealer and I told them I’m willing to give them back cash and pay for safety and tire swap to get the WRX back. They said ‘not possible’ and my response was ‘no, you just don’t want to do it so don’t say it’s not possible as it 100% is possible’

Yes AH is awesome. But is the Lifetime warranty for the tint or installation? As the tint manufacturer isn’t responsible for any bad install.

If the WRX wouldn't work for the commute, then why go through the hassle of wanting it back? The red would have matched the CBX 😅

Their website says " We offer a full Lifetime Warranty on both our Xpel & Solargard Window Film." Just checked, and SRS does lifetime too on install, just 10 years on PPF film. It was my first time ever tinting, so didn't know much, just googled what was close by
