Just wanted to share some pictures of my new ride, it's a 2004 VTX with a 250 rear tire kit, this is my fourth motorcycle. I learned how to ride in a 2001 Kawy ZX6R had it for a few years until I sold it to buy a 2005 ZX6RR, had that bike for about one year and had to sell it due to other financial obligations (Kids)
Last year i decided to get back into riding so I bought a 2005 Honda shadow spirit 750 and had it modified including adapting rims from a 2013 Harley Ultra classic
This year I wanted to move on to something with more torque so i sold the shadow and bought this VTX and again had it modified to suit my style.
Look forward to joining in some rides this year.

That Shadow was pretty sick too. Is that a custom stand? Still have it, or did it go with the bike?

I got that stand from princess auto, I think it was about $40.00. I didn't have any spools in my bike so i used it on the swing arm.

Thanks. I'm gonna look into that for my Shadow.

No worries!
Just use something like hockey tape in the swing arm if you don't have spools in your bike, or else you will scratch the swing arm when you lift the bike.

Good luck with that license plate mounting.

I see turn signals, but do you have a rear brake light?

looks like it's under the plate mount. not visible from the right side haha

reflectors aren't cool man.
I have a light right under the plate
Its not really about being cool man.... it's my taste in motorcycles, an it is visible from the right side unless I am at an extreme angle, in that case I make sure I hand signal.

What's the hand signal for braking?

I can see why you would think that the light is not visible, Since this picture was taken I have moved the licence holder to the rear of the final drive to make sure it is visible from t right side.

good idea

Man.. I was hoping to see the Ninja/CBR 250 rear tire on that bike xD

Are you serious?

Personally I try to avoid hand signals while braking as I prefer 2 hands on the bars, but to each their own.
yeah that was kinda what i was saying. If they can't see the light they aren't going to see you take a hand off the bar and make a signal.

my work here is done.

(but it's still blocked from the right side)

I get everyone's concerns and even though i feel safe riding the motorcycle I am going to look into installing some sort of fender mounted brake light it.

It's not only a question of you being safe, police will ticket you for an improperly mounted license place. Depending on the mood of the cop, you might be subjected to the "fine tooth comb" roadside treatment.
