I don't think my last post went through...

Does anyone know of any vintage style bike manufacturers? I can't find any other than Royal Enfield... Which seem crappy... thanks

Norton Commando 961 SE which is my dream bike, although I would love any cafe racer. Triumph makes a bike similar and half the price called the Truxton.

Bikes in "vintage style" are 'in".

Not only Royal Enfield, Ural, certain models of Moto Guzzi, Ducati, Norton, Triumph, Harley-Davidson and Indian are being made by large companies in the "style" of previously produced bikes, there are a number of small firms or individuals who are turning out very close replicas of original bikes including board track Harley-Davidsons, Indians and ohc Excelsiors, 1920s Indian Scouts, and even 1929 SS100 Brough Superiors.

All you need to get one of the latter is a lot of dough.

They're actually a lot better than you think. Go look at one close up before you dismiss them as inferior... Ken Beach at Old Vintage Cranks in Hillsburgh is the go-to man for RE and Ural.

I love my new 2011 Triumph Thruxton 900!
