Vintage or Classic insurance??

Insured as a classic though?
Getting vintage/classic insurance is different then getting regular insurance (daily riding) on an old "classic " bike.

Those stipulations I mentioned were for classic/vintage Insurance.

Mine is insured as a daily driver. And I pay $1000 a year but then that price was when I was 24. I didnt insure it last year and I hope this year to be getting insurance in the states.

OK, yeah I see that for sure, but we were talking about classic insurance. There is a difference between the two. If you read some past post in the thread you'll see what I mean.

I'm finding its vetting harder and harder to get insurance for an old bike that is a daily driver. I've been told its due to safety factors but I don't get that because the bike has to pass the same safety as a new bike. Also I know Dalton timms has stipulations like bike age ( of course) your number of years riding (min 10 hers I think she told me) and you have to be at least 30 years of age to qualify. All this was told to me on the phone so I'm not guessing at it here.

Thanks for the info Venom,

Looks like I don't qualify, just turned 27 and licensed for 5 years. Yah things are getting ridiculous here, as if 27 isn't old enough to get a good rate on a slow as hell bike... something is wrong here. I'm pretty sure I could insure an SS for as much as this KZ400. I love the thing, a lot of time into it, but it's getting to the point where I'm thinking I might have to sell.

I just qualified this year. I think they are just trying to make sure that inexperienced riders aren't trying to pull tricks on them to get better rates. Sucks, but we got to play by their rules.

No -- she's insurance it as an everyday ride. It sounds like Jevco is open to insuring old bikes under a regular motorcycle policy.
