Vikings

Odin would not be pleased.

Last night's episode was truly disturbing with the temple.

I really liked last nights episode. Saw quite a few new struggles come to light but I'm starting to panic. Wonder how long it'll be before the wife becomes the ex. It happened so it's only a matter of how they'll write it in but I really like them together so I want it to lay off for awhile.

Rolo needs to go.

Thought the monk was done...cool party as long as your not on the sacrifice list...but they didn't mind did they?

Come on guys don't blow it for those who haven't seen it

any of you really smart guys ( you idiots already know who you are) know what point in history the vikings stopped trying to conquer the world and just shop at Ikea?
Seems they had a good 1-200yr run beating up on northern europe then did they just become traders and merchants?

I will leave it to others to say if I am a smart guy but one theory about the vikings is that the adventurous, seafaring raiders were all killed off through their exploits and the ones that remained were calmer and less aggressive. Some would call this natural selection: calm, passive parents beget calm, passive kids.

Amongst the norsemen, some were called berserkers and they had a reputation for wild, frenzied fighting, going so far as to tear off their shirts before combat and flinging themselves into the fray, literally throwing themselves onto the enemy. I doubt there are many of them left either.

Part of the creed of anglo-saxons is that one fights because of the rightness of the battle, regardless of whether or not you can win. This too could have a marked effect on the population.

Historically inaccurate but entertaining show.

BTW: The Vikings didn't die off. They spread across Europe and settled after killing everything in their path. They are just an example of nomadic warriors who took for themselves as opposed to taking "for country".

Rollo (Robert I)'s grandson x3 was William the Conqueror. The first Norman King of England after the battle of Hastings...

My Ancestors were the LeCroix (the ones who grew tired of being noble pansies and returned to war) from lower Normandy who also fought at the BOH and stayed in England until the crusades.

So, killed off isn't really the right way to describe the end of the Vikings since the haplogroup is found all over Europe.. They just didn't go back to Scandinavia.

A good first season....... but the last 2 episodes were lacking what the previous 7 had. Ohhh big surprise at the end. As if we didn't see that coming. The plague was a shocker, but the betrayal, not so much.

Thats what they get for raiding England, brought home the plague.

The series has prompted me to read some actual history, pretty interesting times.
