Velocity gloves

Last I spoke with Jimmy he did one order per year. Too bad as nice got to my gauntlets from him and they were awesome gloves. He did mention he doesn’t do much of the gear outside of the heated stuff and some suits.

Ended up getting some EU stuff instead as a gift from cousins so I’m using those now.

Have had 3 pairs of Velocity VR gloves. They’re well constructed and have solid protection.
Unfortunately, all 3 pairs have lasted about 2 summer seasons before giving up the ghost. The stitching in the fingers starts to separate or tear. I’ve stitched one pair by hand once, but that too, tore through the leather after about 4 months.

All in all, they’re great gloves. I’d order another pair if they weren’t $200/280. I’ve experimented with Arlen Ness gloves, and while they don’t have the stingray skin on the palms, they last me longer than the Velocity ones do.

I am a bit of an outlier with my Velocity VR gauntlets - they were a bit uncomfortable when I got them, gave them a chance to break in, but they never got any more comfortable. Sturdy though - mine go back to one of the GTAM group buys years ago and they are still in great shape. Most people here are happy with theirs

My only beef was the soft leather on my heated ones tore apart due to the way I was putting them on.

Every glove I’ve had I put on the same way, with the same pull area…these were the only ones that failed.

Besides that great gloves. My summer Velocity gauntlets are to this day my favourites.

Maybe Jimmy will have another group buy…but I just noticed the @velocity tag is no longer working.

I had no idea the site was still up, thanks.

As for the gloves, I've had a few pairs of Jimmy's gloves (gauntlets) and crashed the $#!T out of all of them. They all held up great and I found them to be the most comfortable gloves. I've used the original shorty style gloves for the street and they've held up great for years. Regarding price, all good motorcycle gloves are expensive, and these aren't that bad if you compare the price to Heroic gloves which are very similar in construction. Compare them to Dainese, Astars, or Handroids and they're quite affordable.

I've got a pair of these, and they protected me well enough on a low-side where I landed on my left side, flipped onto my back, slid for a bit, then started tumbling. The magnesium knuckles on my left glove were ground down a little, but not much. My right thumb stitching came apart, though, from rubbing against the kill switch as I somersaulted, and I ended up with "road rash" from the switch. That was a bummer. I guess I need to stop keeping my thumb nudged up against the kill switch.

I’m currently rocking a pair of the velocity gauntlets in full black and they are pretty sweet gloves.

The only thing I don’t like is that on one finger, the inner stitching flap is a touch longer than all the other fingers, so on a long day of riding it gets pretty annoying. Wish I could turn them inside out to trim the extra material.

Good to know… so far I’ve been pretty happy with mine…
