Agree. You could use a rimlock but on a street bike with tires at the correct pressure, you shouldn't need to (and it could cause other issues).Air pressure on a street bike
Not going to get a rimlock made for a street bike that is a dirt bike part only.Agree. You could use a rimlock but on a street bike with tires at the correct pressure, you shouldn't need to (and it could cause other issues).
If you were a baller you would get a set custom made. Preferably colour matched to the bike even though nobody could see them. It's like a fine watch. You'd know it was awesome on the inside.
10 days, 6,000 km later and the tire/tube are fine
back home and has not lost one bit of air
so I guess you guys were right about the valve stem thingy, thanks
I do see the rear tire has spun on the rim a bit though
red dot no longer lined up with valve stem
doesn't seem to have changed anything though
I heard there was a device could prevent that
anyone remember the name of it?
Good to see @Trials is back watching over us.
He wasn't kicked out. He made an incorrect assumption, got called on it and left. Hopefully he comes back.kind of miss that weird lemur and his random posts

I don't normally over maintain the car tires but with a long trip at hand I checked the pressure. The next day the tire was flat. The valve didn't re-seat properly.Or the valve core was leaking and self-healed by cycling when he filled it.
Guess I'll have to keep a spare, and a couple of spare stems for people who think along those lines.I won't use those. Too easy for some prick to leave you stranded.
Keeping one under the seat is a good idea. I just won't keep it in the open. I don't normally have spare cores. If someone swiped a core, I would be stuck. Can always give the stems a little twist, just to make sure they're on tight.

They're worth their weight in gold if you have a loose stem issue.
