Meet at a dealership. And do not haggle on the price over the phone or email. You'll get all kinds of people making offer who won't even show. Just say I'm open to offers once you've seen the bike. The guy who offers you $4500 by email (more likely $3000) will offer you $4000 when he sees it.

I just find it curious a lot of the bikes are on sale around their valve intervals, not that this would ever dissuade me from looking at a Japanese machine
