That's one special fuel injected bike if it's got a choke.
alot of FI bikes have a primer.
its like a choke...but not.

Also, Z&TAOMM is a terrible book. Better to quote Proficient Motorcycling instead, I think. Bikes don't need half-baked philosophy to be cool.
Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance has absolutely nothing to with motorcycles and everything to do with the philosophy of quality. Anyone who thinks the book is some kind of primer or manual for motorcycles is a ****ing idiot and stopped reading after the title.
Johnny, that is incorrect. Stay in the habit of using the kill switch to turn the bike off. Otherwise there's no way to tell whether or not the kill switch still works and you don't want to find out in an emergency that it's stuck in "RUN".You mean the kill switch? You should get in the habit of just using the key to turn the bike off. I know in the class they teach to use the kill switch, but it's really only there for emergencies.
Exactly, it's not. My bike has an idle enrichment lever, total opposite of a choke in function.alot of FI bikes have a primer.

I can see a point there but it's a very unlikey thing to happen. That said i do test my kill switch once in a while while the bike is stationary in the garage in idle. You can do that every time you get on it to test it.Johnny, that is incorrect. Stay in the habit of using the kill switch to turn the bike off. That's more of an arguement AGAINST using the kill switch. So now you have parked somewhere, kill switched it and forgot and walked away with your key still in the ignition AND your lights on killing the batteries. Easy to do if it's daylight and not notice.. I stick with my statement as i'm sure most people do, that experience riders just turn off the key. Kill switch is for emergencies, don't get in the habit of using it to shut your bike down every time. They taught us that in the school too. Come to stop.. put it in neutral, let go of clutch.. shut off key, turn your steering left and lock it. And you're good to go. Bike isn't going anywhere and you never forget your key in the ignition that way.Additionally, using your kill switch to turn off the engine allows your lights to remain on and increases your visibility if you ever have to stop on the side of the road
I don't understand. Did a hipster just read Zen And The Art Of blah blah and feel inspired to get on a bike?
Jokes aside, how do you even turn off a bike with the choke? Unless you idle speed is extremely messed up.

Did I get you as well? Score!
