really? I bet most still charge a fee for disposing.People don't realize that retailers get paid now for used tire pickup (it's pennies but nevertheless - there's no cost involved, only some storage space)

Crappy tire charges me an environmental fee so naturally I leave them a present

ah.. thats good to know. Where can I find a good summary of this legislation? I'll need new tires for my car this year and I want to be aware of what really I should be paying.Very possible. If they do, it's a scam. Every tire retailer in Ontario has to charge $5.43 tire levy on a new tire sold. Out of that levy around 80c goes to the retailer per one used tire picked up (class 1 tires - passenger and light truck). Whoever picks up those old tires is getting paid out of the levy as well, retailer does not pay for it any longer for few years now.
