Cheap and plentiful for a reason. Underpowered. Terrible suspension. Heavy. Looks like a sea creature.Never understood the katana hate from everybody

The original katana was one of the original superbikes. Odd looking 80s bike for sure. The ones that came later were bloated, slow, cheap, underpowered sport touring bikes masquerading as sportbikes. Nothing to do with the heritage of the original machine. Just borrowed the name.is started the crotch-rocket craze
which made hooliganism much more affordable
and in doing so helped degrade our already poor public image
yeah, the cylons circa 1978
Looks like a Cylon from the old Battlestar Galactica TV series with Lorne Greene.

I had the use of one for a weekend - it was an answer to a question that nobody asked.
Honda DN-01.
Knew someone who worked at a Honda dealer when these came out. They called it the "Do Not Order One".
Wingboy already posted the first thing that came to mind when I saw the thread title. I personally *love* the look of the GSX1100S Katana and the Honda DN-01 (and the Valkyrie Rune, before someone posts it). V-Stroms, well, their form follows function and I can respect that. I disliked the new Katana at first because I thought it was too conservative, but it grew on me.
One somewhat common bike that assaults my eyeballs is the HD Road Glide... when I knew less about bikes I thought HD owners were putting a crappy aftermarket fairing on to make them look like that. One that I don't see much anymore but was definitely on the roads was the BMW F650CS. Also not big on any version of the Yamaha V-Max
