I heard that this is what Vancouver is like with all the rich Chinese people sending their kids there ( I saw similar things in Sydney, Australia) but seeing actual photos of the phenomenon is hilarious:

LOL @ Lamborghini's with "New Driver" stickers, when will be mine turn for Rich parents?

You still have a chance...just change your Tinder criteria. Forget hot and in shape and look for loaded parents. Ez pz.

There are about 6-8 Chinese students at any given time next door. Cars in the drive are very much of the latest greatest variety. My snotty motorcycles don't seem to impress them at all. Cultural war in the making.

I drive a lot around Laurier and University Of Waterloo. Some of the cars I see around the campus blow me away.

Heck, I remember being an undergrad at Queens paying my own freight there and seeing some of the cars some of the students drove. One of my housemates had a brand new Camry bought for her by her parents. Some students had their parents buy a house for them that they lived in with their friends. I do not know if the house was sold after graduation or if the house was kept was an investments for their kids after graduation.

Coming from very modest means I cannot imagine having these sorts of advantages when starting one's life.

If kids that have freshly shed their teenage cocoons are actually driving those cars around BC, there's got to be a lot of them embedded in the local terrain. Where's those pictures?

Ahh, the K-car. Used to roll in one of those. Good times, good times.

did you get the "salt" stains too?

mine became a zombie. the car would not die. it had a problem with the engine but kept running (cracked something. piston? cylinder head?). the belts chirped. the windows would not open after a while. pretty sure the radio crapped out too. but the thing that eventually killed the car was a few dollar gas line hose. way too much labour cost to fix it given the value of the car was scrap.

Yup. On the wagon too, so was really noticeable. Had about 5 cars in the family based on the kcar.

Friend of mine in high school had a red woody wagon. That car was a riot! Almost identical to this

I actually legit LOLed at this pic. When i was in Uni I took the bus. Didn't have money for a car...........or much else. I remember me and my friends sitting down to a meal off hamburger patties, and corn flakes cause that's all we had left and no money.

Exactly. Parents offered to pay for uni, but they would have to add a second mortgage on so I declined. Worked and took loans through uni/college. Ate when I could otherwise I slept. Took the bus to school when it was cold otherwise bike in till it snowed.

My parents let me borrow my mom's car occassionally:

Ours was a weird pinky purple with steelies and lots of rust/holes, bald tires.
Nice car that. :d
Dad had a '63 Chevy pickup, he bought used off of a furniture company.
