TV shows currently watching

I think I mentioned before, but treme is a great show, a lot of the cast from the wire carried over, its about the music/history/art/culture of new orleans as well as the aftermath of the hurricane

A lot of local talented musicians make cameo appearances.

I don't know where to put this cause we have no video game thread lol

Long story short: Animal Crossing and DOOM Eternal released on the same day. Memes ensued. Memes got worse when mom's ******* about buying the wrong game and found their son/daughter ripping demon guts out instead of making a nice peaceful village.

Anyone watching Debris? It’s a pretty good sci-fi series with a definite X flies feel. About tracking down debris from an alien spacecraft that has weird properties.

Binged "Cherry".
Tom Holland of the most recent Spider Man shows he has some serious acting skills.
Awkard kid, awkward relationship, break, he becomes a combat medic. When he gets home, the PTSD is too much and his life goes down the junkie drain. I give it a very surprised, thumbs up!

that's on my watch list!

This is a bit niche but as we like odd detective/crime stories it works well...

Rocco Schiavone : Ice cold murders. Italian with English subtitles. Very likeable lead character detective with some flaws...he speaks to his dead wife often, he's casually corrupt/violent/chauvinistic/rude to his coworkers and his best friends are a few likeable criminals. it’s on PBS masterpiece that you can watch as a free trial for 30 days as a channel on Amazon Prime.

And season 3 of drive to survive - only 2 episodes in, but nice to see the behind the scenes of covid, etc.

The remake of The Stand on Prime. So far it’s pretty good...it jumps around a lot...so if you’re not familiar with the storyline it might be a tad confusing. Decent cast, although it’s hard to top the star-studded lineup from the ‘94 mini series with Gary Sinise and Molly Ringwald!! Lol

I’ve been PVRing it but haven’t watched an episode yet.

I’m on season 5 of “The Wire” and need to get it done by end of the month.

Nice, the trailer looked good but thought it was a movie. series makes it easier to watch actually. Can't wait now

If you don't mind subtitles lots of good international stuff on Netflix.
Money Heist - complex heist show
Kingdom - zombies in historic korea

recently started Sisyphos - time travel korean show. decently interesting but with terrible firearms-related scenes.

Been watching WandaVision, found it very entertaining and creatively different then what you would expect from a Marvel series.

Just finished it, great series. First few episodes had me confused as to what direction it was going but in typical Marvel fashion the end had me just sitting there in awe of what's to come.

Related to that I just watched the first episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, looks promising.

Binged "The Morning Show" - an AppleTV show starring Jennifer Anniston and Reese Witherspoon.
Jennifer can act. I would never have thought she was capable of this type of emotion on screen. Well done.
Steve Carrel - again, shows some solid acting chops.

For whatever reason, NyangoStar comes to mind lol:

I love the book it is up in my favourite of favourites. I was concerned when I heard they were going to try and make this a series. Stephen King movies/tv shows go one of two ways, they are either amazing or they are just horrible. Now I am only one episode in but it looks very promising. I was curious how they would start this off as the book is a slow burn to get you to the end of the world and I think the first episode did a good job of getting you there, knowing the story might help though as you said. This will be the next series I watch when I finish watching the new adaptation of All Creatures Great and Small. I loved the original and this new version holds up and is equally as good.... for those who like a slow paced story about a vet in the Yorkshire dales.
