Class Act on Netflix, French show. It was very good and apparently loosely fitting to actual events.

Looks like a good selection on Apple tv. Do you have to own an apple device to watch?

Last I checked you can buy the stand alone unit to plug into the TV.

Modern smart tvs may not need this?

Yes. I have a new smart tv. Everything loaded on it is very simple plug n play. Apple of course is like a dog f'ing a football. Sorry MacDoc, but I'm not the only one. If Apple were that good, everyone would use it as the standard.

I like their products but find the computer OS cumbersome AF.

If you have a smart tv you may be able to just subscribe and stream it. Do you have an Apple TV app/icon?

Yes. The app is loaded and subscribed. When i click on "watch" it takes me back to subscribe. Frustrating.

Ummm you do have to subscribe to watch AppleTV+ tho you usually get a few months free.
I'm not fond of the AppleTV+ interface design ....it is confusing.

Apple TV 4k is a hardware device.
Apple - TV 4K Wi-Fi + Ethernet, 128GB storage with Siri Remote - Apple

AppleTV+ is a subscription.

You can watch AppleTV+ on any device with internet access.

There is Apple TV the app, and Apple TV the device. Apple didn't do themselves any favour here.
The app you can use with most modern smart TV's and use it to stream Apple content.

If you have any Apple device you probably had an offer for 30 days free, I even think you don't need to have a device and you can sub for 30 days trial for free.. Basically once you set up an Apple account you can access everything. No harder or simpler then the other guys. So use the Apple account on the Apple TV app on your smart TV.

All the other streaming services are simple to use. Apple is simply overengineered. My grandkids can operate any of them.
Apple has 7% of the market. Not exactly dominating.
I'll give it one more chance tonite before i delete it.

7% of what market???? Talk about vague random dissing.

Second round of Dr Who Specials tonight.

I dipped my toes into the Mac world recently and got myself a macbook pro. It came with 3 months of Apple TV free. In my opinion Netflix is the only one with a decent interface, Amazon Prime Video is a bit of a mess (tried to be too fancy with previews that enlarge and take over your screen etc), Apple TV isn’t too bad.

Yeah Netflix changes all the time but it's okay.
I find Prime alright but again they tweak it.
I don't like how AppleTV+ has limited cues as to what is going on and no feedback as to quality of the stream. At least Netflix and Prime you can search on 4k UHD.

Meanwhile back on topic ,.been meaning to watch this...great start

All the Light We Cannot See. On Netflix.
Brilliant.
We also loved it ... kept us glued and it's only 4 episodes at an hour each so not a huge commitment.

Shawn Levy directed and I've got a mental note to watch for any of his future stuff. Man is good!
