TV Remote controls - Options?

Well, theres always the opportunity to buy the company's remote division and bring back the Harmony One......

I'll split it with you.

So how many votes for Harmony so far? LOL. I have 890 in my theater - controls receiver, TV, bass controller, blu-ray player, light dimmer. Used to control PS3 with adapter when I had one. Have Harmony 1000, which is brand new, but I like my 890 too much. Logitech has codes for pretty much everything.
I still have Sony's commander, and like someone said, it's a pain to program anything into it. Same for Marantz universal remote. IMHO, for the price, you can't beat Harmony.
I also use Harmony 550 to control a very expensive CD player from California Audio Labs. Original remote is $40+ on ebay (and I finally got one, but don't use it), and 550 was like 29 bucks on sale.
You probably wont like the 1000. The shape of it pretty much requires two handed use, and having to look down at the screen all the time get's annoying. Tactile buttons are always better imo. At least the new Harmony touch has some buttons and is shaped like a remote should be.

I looked at the 1000 when I bought the One, and came to the same conclusion.

If Logitech is shedding the Harmony lineup (as long as someone supports the on-line programming....), will there be deals on the Touch? I wouldn't mind moving the One to upstairs to get rid of the 880, and put a (bargain priced) Touch on the home theatre in the basement...

My bad lol, it's a Harmony One. Yeah, I was picking between those two, and ended up with One. Still haven't used it for over a year now. Two under-button pads on my 890 got worn off (channel up and volume up), so I just opened the remote, added some very thin plastic pads, and it has worked like new ever since). But I never returned One.

The 880 has some buttons on the oval surround for the display, and they're a little difficult to find. The One is a major improvement over the 880, but I am really happy with both Logitech remotes. I used to get phone calls at work when the Missus couldn't switch from DVD to TV (or whatever), but no more due to the "Help" button on the remotes!

Go for it

I did, because it controls 8 devices and some of my devices do not have remotes (and share the satellite input on the surround) I can get away with using activities to control it how i want. Now i'm looking for a denon aht for a reasonable price. Best Buy had them for $100 but they're not anywhere I can find them http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product...atre-receiver-avr-1312-avr-1312/10170401.aspx Other places that have them in stock have them for 250 and up.

The reason I want that particular receiver is it has RCA, SVid and HDMI and i use all 3 with my entertainment system. Most receivers I've seen only have RCA and HDMI and I don't want to fork out the $$ for a SVid to HDMI converter.
