Turn Back the Odomider

It illegal so dont do it.

But if you want just sit on the bike and push it backwares in circles. It will start to decrease.

Omg bwahahahahahaha rofl lol hahaha

Is it legal to do the exact opposate? The odometer portion of my bike is broken but everything else works, so when I get a new dash is it legal to adjust the new dash to my bikes kms? (160000)

now that's an interesting question. when I sold my Katana everything was frozen, odometer and trip meter locked up when I hit 99,999kms. Even though I did roughly report the mileage a year later at 116K.

Did the viffers do the same or is it just broken?

Viffers odometers roll, but this one displays nothing. the trip gauges work etc but only the odo is broke.

Remember back in the day when you could disconnect the transmission feed to the instrument panel and drive without a speedo or odo?

big brother doesnt record motorcycle milage, its only for cars and trucks.

Well they certainly ask my odometer reading, when I buy my new plate sticker every year. They might be a little suspicious if you report 10K Kms after your first year of ownership then 5K Kms a couple of years later, when you sell it.

The people at the MTO are basically robots.
Same questions, same procedures, all day and every day.
I'm sure if you went there to register your bicycle they'd ask for mileage just out of habit.

They have asked me for it, but once I point out it is not needed for motorcycles they skip it.

Note quite accurate. They dont ask for it for renewals but it is recorded and assocoiated with the VIN. If you try and sell the vehicle to someone with a lower than previouse reading you will get flagged and wont be able to sell it. Or at least the sucker wont be able to transfer it into their name

That statement is very inaccurate.
I see it happen with cars every now and then and it's never been an issue.

I don't believe its illegal to roll back the OD, i believe its illegal to roll back the OD and them sell it as correct mileage.
I have a restored bike with a NOS speedo, i just took a pic of the the original speedo with the correct mileage, and them just add the two up for the MTO ( or the new buyer if i ever sold it ) Not disclosing the correct mileage makes it illegal.
Upon selling the bike , i will provide the picture of original speedo, add the new milage and state this on the bill of sale, i will have a copy for the buyer to sign

This could also affect how the Ministry responds to you when you go in to renew your plate sticker......

They don't care about motorbike mileages at all. When I got my new stickers, the dude working there told me when I asked him why he didn't ask me for my bike's mileage.
