Trying to ID to pocket bikes

A few month back I got my hands on two pocket bikes that I want to get up running. The problem being is there is no ID markings on them. Can anybodIMG_9991.JPGy help with IDing these two and are parts for these things interchangeable/universal?

Looks to be standard China pocket bike 47-49cc air cooled, had a bunch years ago that I would bring out and race with my friends. Spent most evenings working on them so they would stay working for Sunday.

Might have to rip all that plastic off and try to find some markings on the frame possibly.
It’s got to have something....right!?

They look to be both clones, the repsole one for sure is a clone of a clone, the camel one I’m not sure would need to see more of it. What parts do you need? You’re not going to find a fiche with part numbers that you can order from, but I can probably point you to the “style” to make it easier to find parts.. they’re mostly built with off the shelf parts of different quality but if you have the right “style” it all bolts up

I know the Repsol one is missing a carb and the camel a chain. I did find a whole bunch of parts on Amazon and figured most of those might be universal with a little bit of fidgeting. They even have full big bore motors on there for $150

The chain is standard, any bearing house that sells chain will have it.. the more pictures the better I can help you. Wheel bearings are also easy off the shelf parts, the brakes are mtn bike parts if you want to upgrade( any thing sold as pocket bike will probably be the same cheap junk), all the bodies use the same mounts if they are for “49cc air cooled” which is the size you have.

I believe they are both 49cc. I will dig them out tonight and take more photos. Thanks for the help

The only China pocket bike parts I would buy, would be bodywork, and some of the engine related stuff, carb adapters, head kits, clutches and clutch bells, and exhaust. But only the quality stuff and it’s hard to tell from pictures unless you have had that version of that style part in your hand. Everything else I either get a name brand I recognize(skf ntn bearings, tsubaki chain, walboro carb) or actual real pocket bike parts from Italy, but those mostly were for the water cooled bikes. Some of the Chinese pit bike throttle controls are really nice, and real brake levers from a bicycle

Here are some more photos without taking the plastics off. Hope it helps, the frames are different. On the repsol bike I found a plaque on the swing arm. The camel bike not so lucky

Just want to add that you have to take these things to a parking lot, that’s why I ended up with a bunch of them. Running from cops was fun for about two months one summer, but the fines that you could get are not worth it( all most $2,000).. that’s why I ended up with 11 bikes and would trailer them to a go station parking lot and ride with my friends. Had a couple of the water cooled ones too, they’re a hand full, if you weren’t over the bars when the power band kicked, it would wheelie right out from under you.
Fun times, I miss that racing.. the best is giving the better bikes to the garage riders, and the junk bikes to the good riders

P.S wear gear, they might look like nothing, but I have a couple good scars from some small mistakes.. leather would have saved me

Still illegal and could land you thousands in fines unless you own the land you need insurance.

Yup. $2,000 is getting off easy. No insurance on it's own is that or more, then you add unregistered vehicle along with potentially licence and equipment fines and you are quickly pushing $5,000 for an afternoon of fun. See if the local go-kart track lets you play on them.

Never had a problem in the parking lot, if cops showed up they were checking for drugs and alcohol, if security showed up they would just say that the camera’s saw them show up so just pack up for the day.. it seems as long as you’re not a dick people will let you play. Pick a lot that is far enough away from people that the exhaust noise won’t be a bother, and a time that the lot sees no traffic = understanding cops, and security. Same lot and time for almost three years, only stopped because I started a family, and playing with friends every hour I wasn’t working didn’t fly anymore lol

Just curious, beyond trespassing what law is being broken? Seriously, just a question never had a problem.. cops were happy to see me not on the road, and security was just doing their job, they almost never showed up and when they did they made it clear if you were reading between the lines that “it’s not normally my job to be here, but I was here( pointing to the camera’s in the lot) so you’re going to have to pack up.

All of them. If it is property not owned by you, you need insurance. If it is not controlled access (eg gate, chain etc), they can get you with the rest of the vehicle tickets (plate, registration, unsafe, no licence, helmet doesn't meet required standard etc). They can also throw in dangerous or careless.

I'm glad you had a good experience with enforcement, I think that is a reasonable approach but not every cop is reasonable.

My point was don’t ride in your neighbourhood, that will get you f#€¥ed for sure. I never got the book when I was finally stopped that first summer, but was told the charges, and informed to stay off the street or else!.. I didn’t want the “or else” lol
