Truth And Reconciliation

And you just know the money will flow
Question is not how it’ll flow, but how much effect will it have on the band members. Or will it get to the top and then POOF disappear into thin air.

that's a ligitimate question, there has been quite a few cases of leaders and chiefs living quite well while the rest of the band appear in abject poverty.
They suffer from incest , internal corruption , and if animal abuse charges could ever be brought forward, that also. ( my daughter has two dogs rescued from the NWT ) . They are not without fault.
Our attempts to bring them into our 'modern' world has been very poorly administered . They have also been very selective about the portions of our world they would like to accept.
IMO there is a bit of blame on both sides here.

You are right and this isn't a criticism to your comments but the issue is so polarized that unless a comment uses exactly the words the other side wants to hear the comment is rejected.

How do we get an impartial person to speak to each and every single person in Canada, find out what they want out of life and then point out to them the realities and paths forward.

The multi generational welfare users are the same. How do we get people to become contributing members of society?

IMO the present native / immigration system is not sustainable but unless the grass roots are educated into a more meaningful lifestyle there will be no progress. The losers in the change will be the ones that unfairly keep too much of the money. We need to educate the young. The VIPs will drag the residential schools into it and the person suggesting the move will be drawn and quartered.

You can't change the past but you can change the future for your grandchildren. Unfortunately politicians one look forward four years at the most.

Children get a lot of their views from the parents and if the parents are doing nothing the kids don't have the exposure to a different lifestyle. A doctor married to an accountant drop bits of knowledge that the kids pick up, deciding on what career to pursue. Does a kid on a reserve actually know and understand what a cardiologist does? How about an actuary? Lab assistant? The schools if run differently could have fixed a lot of that. They have so poisoned that option that the mere mention of schools sets off a firestorm.

People in power will make the big bucks on this. If a person has nothing and a VIP gives them $100 the person sees themselves as lucky. Maybe the VIP got $1000 for every $100 they gave out.

The VIPs will not give up on this and will use every dirty trick in the book to win.

At the rate we're going at with societal trends?

Communism! (I hate communism because I contribute more than the average person [also the system is horribly flawed simply because a select few have to control it], so **** communism, but that's the trend I'm noticing as the wealth gap gets worse.)

A benevolent dictator sounds good but would likely get assassinated over making people wear masks.

Communism sounds like a great idea but it stifles creativity.

I think our brains are centuries or millennia behind progress. Most people are possibly capable of shooting an animal, planting corn and chopping down trees to build a cabin. Beyond that they get confused and vote for spin doctors.
