Tricks for beating traffic

Just remember that it's illegal to even have this mounted on your vehicle and it can result in confiscation of the device, confiscation of your plate, and a tow of your vehicle.

It's for car, motorcycle "shows" only :) Cops won't spot it anyway...it's as clean looking as it gets.

...will change your life. No more 401.
Friend of mine had one of these. He knew the guy that started importing them into Toronto or something along those lines. He used it all the time. Eventually the 407 matched his car to his plate from the times he went through without it. Got a bill for $500. He didn't mind though saying he probably actually owed them $2k-5k for the number of km he put on it.

His was designed in such a way that it was black when it had no power, so it would always draw a VERY small amount of power to stay clear. However, one time one of the wires came loose and it went black on the highway. He got pulled over. Cop made him cut the wires off and remove it on the spot and then snap it in half. At the time I think he said he paid $400 for it.

Good to know. I think the trick is not to be predictable, i.e hitting the 407 on/off same time each day. Sooner or later they'll be waiting for you. Could come in handy in "other" circumstances though!

Last night I saw a cruiser (not sure which brand although I don't think it was a Harley) riding along the shoulder of hwy 400 from somewhere just north of hwy 7 to Major Mac.

Whatever we might think about passing on ramps, this is completly wrong unless for some reason the rider had an incredible emergency to attend to.

And it's the sort of thing that i see, all the time, on 410. Both bikes and cars.

Last year of the year before a car was heading *southbound* on the northbound shoulder of the 400. I saw him coming and moved way over to the left. Police were following in the southbound lanes.. I think the driver got on up at Highway 9, went down the 400, then eastbound on the westbound 401 before they stopped him (I don't think there was a crash.)
