Trade and barter of unwanted Xmas gifts?

If you've unwrapped a few unwanted gifts that cannot be returned, before you dump them in your closet, basement, or attic, have you thought about posting them here and try to trade them for something more appealing to you?

Or do you just post on kijiji?
Or just live with it?

What rules would be good to set for such an exchange on a posting board? Any suggestions?

For sale, "unrelated?"

good idea for a thread.

as far as someone finding out what you aqre up to... I wouldnt care if someone traded a gift i got for them.
its the thought that counts.

In a country where debt is at a record high you'd think people would actually spend their money on things they need rather than buy crap for people who will just get rid of the gifts...

Yes. At Christmas party I was gleefully informed by childless couple (combined income +$120G) their $150G house will be payed off early, only took 16 yrs. But lets not talk about credit card debt. Just because you're a high school french teacher doesn't make you money smart. LOL.

I choose to believe you're exaggerating, who lives in a $150K house

But still...$120k/yr income and it took 16 years? Must have some nice toys. Would think paying off the biggest toy would be the priority.

They probably didn't make 120G + At first.
Lets talk about credit card debt, I wanna hear about how bad it can get :)

True. The lady in question was noobie high school French teacher and hubby 2nd or 3rd yr. electrical apprentice. He's on his third pos Ford Ranger, living basic, she likes to live large with optioned up new vehicles, toys and European vacations. Sadly, I had to explain to them the dealio about making minimum credit card payments. I don't think it took.
