Tracking my ride.. what do you use?

If those were my notes, you write them yourself, the C90 would mean I can go 90% around that corner.
The distances are cumulative.
We start at 11.01 units from the start, which was 0.11 units from the last turn, and there's a 45 degree right turn , that I can go at 90% of top speed.
Then travel 0.77 units, to a fork in the road, bear left, full speed ahead.
Then travel 0.79 units to a fork, turn right, full blast
The next looks like bear left at 13.73 units

The biggest problem was when you got out of sync, but didn't know it. I was at Moto Park, came out of the forest, took a wrong turn and launched myself off a 40' embankment... WHEEEEeeeeee. I landed it, and blew the rear shock's guts out.

If you have Google Maps there's a good chance the Location History feature is enabled (you did read that EULA / TOS agreement you clicked "OK" on when you signed up with Google, right?) and it's got a long history of your travels.

For pure "I forget where I went last Saturday" type stuff, it works perfectly.

If you're looking for more feature laden options, I've used Yamaha MyRide which also tracks other stats about your ride as well as a great tracking feature. It doesn't seem offended I don't actually ride a Yamaha. Give it a shot, I think you'll be surprised.

Rever....meh. Scenic, same...meh. They all seem so clunky and try to be a jack of too many trades instead of a master of one. I use Google Maps or Waze for navigation, and let Google location history do the tracking portion.
Buddy I used ride with, we call him the "Human GPS" knows a lot of nice roads in Ontario from his 30+ years of owning a lawn sprinkling business. He would turn off roads on his way to customers to see if it was motorcycle fun worthy. For about 4 years I used google maps tracking so I could record the ride, then import them into my Garmin GPS. Since I get lost out my own driveway, tracking really comes in handy.

While I've got some time on my hands, I'm working on a design concept for a Senior's GPS.

It will give you turn-by-turn directions to wherever you want to go.

Upon arrival at your destination, it'll tell you why you wanted to go there in the first place.

I love Scenic, iphone only. Tracking works well and turn by turn replaying of rides is a free feature

Edit, just realized I already posted in this thread when it was new hah

When I'm rich maybe :( the rest of us peasants are using iphone apps on a handlebar mount
if it makes you feel better my iphone is mounted to the bars as well. i don't like the turn by turn navigation screen on the TFT. also, the connectivity isn't all that great either.

  1. connect phone to bike
  2. connect sena/cardo to bike
  3. play music
  4. no music? reconnect sena
  5. still no music? reconnect phone
  6. still no music? swear at bike, connect phone to sena and get on with life
lol
