Track Day Help!

I bought my straps from Blue Streak Racing when I placed a large order a while back, but you can get them pretty much anywhere.
CT sells them, U-haul sells them and they're fairly cheap.

I'm far from an experienced track rider, but I'll give you a run down of what I brought.

- Gear (Leathers, helmet, boots, gloves and undergear)
- Cooler (ice, water, gatorade and red bull)
- Food/snacks
- Mastercraft tool set (didn't even open it)
- Front and rear stands and a wheel chock
- Chain cleaner, lube, rags, oil, brake cleaner, etc.
- Sunscreen, insect repellent
- Extra t shirt, socks
- Extra fuel

I brought an extra set of gloves and a helmet, but I won't be doing that again. I overpacked because it was my first track day and I didn't want to be missing anything. Now I know a little better and the list I have above is going to be my check list every time.

Awesome lists!! Thanks ZX600

Also, what things should I consider purchasing and bringing before my first track day. I've read a bit online about what modifications I have to make but a list from experienced track riders will be amazing!

Buy a canyon dancer (bike store)as well as straps. Buy ratcheting straps

Some of those lists are pretty extensive. Start with the basics. I keep a note taped inside my trailer. Every time I need/borrow a tool it gets written down to grab before the next trackday.

google 4x8 harbor freight folding motorcycle trailer

I have one. Paid $250 (after discounts, tax included on border, etc) for the trailer itself. By the time I got it the way I want it, I had already spent $650 altogether (plus countless hours of my time), and it's still not quite there yet. Here is a much much better alternative, keep an eye on it, it was discounted down to $699 the other day: http://www.tscstores.com/5-X-7-ANGLE-IRON-TRAILER-P30575.aspx

Here's the HF i made if you want to look at it:

Thanks for all your help guys!!

I'm currently signing up for the course with RACER5 on july 14th at Mosport DDT.

Woo!!!!

I ordered a uhaul for 2pm before a track day last year. Guy didn't bring it back. My friend and I ran around to 3 other uhaul locations to find one. Didn't get to the track till 1am when we scheduled to be there at 7pm. I bought my own trailer just so I didn't have to pay uhaul ever again. Problems every time. Btw my 4x8 can fit 2 track bikes tightly.

sounds like you overbuilt it...the trailer is meant to be entry level-ish, all in, I spent no more than $450 on my trailer.

Cost of convenience for a folding trailer, if you want it to compare to standard model!

You could actually spend even more if you go with their diamond plate flooring and walls. Some (e.g., Red Trailers) even have a fold-down tailgate that doubles as a ramp. However it would actually make it so LESS convenient, since the time to assemble the thing would probably outweigh the benefit of being able to stand it up in a garage.

Actually, I didn't even cut the plywood in half, the trailer will never be folded up (my driveway can fit 6 cars so I've got plenty of space). Really thinking about the diamond plate flooring. As for the tailgate fold-down ramp---that's what I wanted, but the frame of the trailer itself is not strong enough to hold safely a heavy gate. Overall, it's a nice upgrade to my previous tiny trailer, but there is so much more to desire.
