Tow company

Hi everyone,

I havent posted in a while and I'm sorry for that.
Today I'm wondering if anyone has had a good experience towing a motorcycle.

I'm out of province and due to Covid can't come get the bike myself. Furthermore, I am losing my current storage and need it moved about 30 km to my folks place till I can sort out how to get to me to Halifax.

I tried using my CAA membership but they will only tow none drivable vehicles to a licensed shop. Unless I'm willing to pay, which brought me to this community. I figured someone must have dealt with a company that moves motorcycles well... CAA has towed a bike of mine in the past and it was less than pleasant experience as the driver admitted he hadn't ever towed a bike before.

My father would meet the tow at the bike with the keys, then follow it back to their place.

Any suggestions would be gladly appreciated.

TIA.

I’ve always had pleasant experiences with CAA and although they say you have to be there when the truck arrives etc I’ve shipped a few bikes and cars without being on site. They’ve also always sent trucks specifically designed for bikes IME although I’m sure that’s not always the case.

If CAA is out of the question then there are dedicated motorcycle transport services. If the bike is in the GTA you can try @infernobuster on this site. If the bike is in Hali you may have to do some calling around.

Hope it all works out.

You could also try uShip and send it right to Halifax. I’ve used them for to door, the load and unload without supervision, I’ll bet the move to Halifax would be $200-300.

Infernobuster is a good option. Also motolimo. Where is the bike?

If MM is correct and uship will get it to Halifax for <$500, do that. It will cost you more and be more annoying to get it handled twice.

Very interesting!
Yes, My folks are shipping a container to Halifax and were quoted $300 to ship the motorcycle, in the meantime, they would keep it in their garage.

I'll look into uShip!

Thanks!

Thanks for the +1 on @infernobuster I'll send them a DM. Will also look into uShip and Motolimo then have a chat w my folks to see who they had lined up to get it here for $300.

Infernobuster.....
He moves motorcycles and his prices are reasonable, I speak from experience.
I have also used CAA, they are good but there are a couple of "statutes" to work around.
If it is just GTA west to GTA East, reach out to Infernobuster.
