Tough Mudder

I'm not on beast mode just yet so I only signed up for the Warrior Dash.

^^^^Same here, runnning the last wave 6pm for warrior dash on July 20th with some buddies

Started training already because its mostly running i have to train for as i havent run in quite a while, the rest i THINK ive already got it covered with my ongoing strength training.
Endurance endurance endurance + intervals!

I'm in for the May 12th run. Been doing Crossfit since November to prepare for it, but I still suck at running.

I did the Spartan Race last year with no prior preparation and it was really not very hard. Warrior Dash is easier than Spartan Race, no?

Regardless, this is all bucket-list ****. Never again; it's too damn expensive.

In for "Insane Concreter" ...tough mudder is for pussies. Insane Concreter you have to do by balancing on your pinkie finger for 23 miles before crawling on your foreskin over broken glass for another 30 miles and then listening to Bieber records while being beaten with a frozen cod for 12 hours straight.

Or...I'll save my money and go spend it in the pub while laughing at nutters forking out a fortune for a T shirt and some facebook pics while getting covered in ****.

Yeah, should say the same thing about marathon runners, or ironman runners too. This, i find, is a nice way for people to set goals to attain a better physical shape, something to strive to because not everybody has the drive to better themselves..just to better themselves, like most of us here already do.
And if you think this cost a fortune with a ~70-100 dollar signup , look at how much it costs to signup for an ironman. I think those prices are in line with regular marathon costs but this course includes their obstacles.

Basically this is like the p90x of marathon/obstacle races/whatever you wanna call it.
:)

N.B.: you might wanna say im biased since im participating in one too ahaha

Yeah we're in for Sept. 28th as well. Looks like a lot of fun! Didn't pick the May date because I need to whip this wet noodle into shape. Good luck and have fun! :D

My buddy ran ough mudder last year, he said its not that bad and the hardest part is running hills, everyone there is helping eachother, there is big lineups for obstacles which really sucks. If u wanna see it first hand look up furious pete tough mudder on youtube, he runs it with a gopro, doesnt seem too bad at all

So i guess its a matter of running faster than the other people to get to the obstacles "first" and cut down time drastically.
So basically a hill runners kinda of event right?~

Rattlesnake point trails, here i come (to train lol)

keep in mind that tough mudder isnt a race... at all. In fact they go out of their way to tell you that. If you want to race look at 5 peaks trail run series or some of the xtrerra style triathlons.

Ran on Saturday at the 9am start time. It was FREEZING. Finished in 2:05.

If you really want to see your best personal time, I recommend running the first heat of any race, as that's where the fastest people tend to be. You'll probably be somewhere mid-end if you're just an okay runner so won't have to wait for obstacles. Or if you're really good, you're not waiting on more than 1 or 2 people.

I want to aim for a podium finish if I do it next year. Personally, I think I'm just going to start sneaking into races and just donating or something. I don't care for the pictures, medal or t shirt anymore as I just love to run.

Btw, I would also say that the Warrior Dash has better obstacles than Spartan race.
