i was riding to school, in the parking lot took a righthand turn quickly and hit some dirt and low sided :( right fairing is a little scratched up and broke right front turn signal, and i think my right handlebar is bent up a bit...also scratched up knee....

what should i do about the handlebar?

also... this sucks :p

 welcome to the club... **** happens, you stand up shake it off and move on. Glad to know you are ok tho..

I don't know how bad the handle bar is, but maybe is not much and you can still ride. what kind of bike?

What kind of bike is it...

What kind of bike? And did anyone witness it? That could be embarrassing...

I think my ego would hurt the most. Sounds minor; make sure you're not leaking any fluids (the bike that is)

Same thing happened to me a couple years ago...I went to Rosie Toes and they bent the handlebar back into its original position in five minutes for $20.

I'm sorry to hear about that! At least you're alright, and the damage to your bike sounds pretty minor. You'll be back on two in no time :)

Ride safe

was just about to ask if anyone saw this... if you are a girl then you would get away with it a bit easier... i think...

i had similar experience although it was at almost 0 speed... don't worry, it's more common than you think.

Ive been riding for 3 months, have taken that turn 50+ times... but this time i went down :S

My bikes a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250 SE

AND yes there was some people around... quite embarassing

I just got home and realized i think im leaking oil...

was it leaking when the bike was down or still something when you got home? if it was just when it was down, could be gasoline from the overflow

heat it up and try bending it? or better yet, just take it to a trusted mechanic who wont charge you an arm and a leg for just checking the bike out and give overall inspection. hint: not a dealer

start wearing knee pads. saved my knees on couple of occasions

this +1

dont stress too much but do get it checked just in case, and I hope you did a bike check before starting it on your way from school to home

it was weird, after i went down i got up, got bike up, drove it to the parking spot, checked it all out, no leakage... then went to class for 2.5 hours, came back and it wasnt leaking, but when i started it and was turning it on i notices a little puddle started forming, oil light wasnt on, so i brought it home, the leaking is much slower, but i think it still is leaking ... think it only is leaking when its on the kickstand...

can anyone direct me to a trusted mechanic :p i live around QEW and Winstonchurchill so something close by so i can ride it over i guess.

I usually deal with TO Cycle on Lakeshore & Brown's line. Junior has always done right by me. Otherwise, it's slim pickings out here in the west end.

BTW, can you tell what type of fluid was leaking from the bike? Oil? Gas? Coolant?
