To be masked or not to be masked

since this thread has gone sideways, many Germans did not share the beliefs of the ruling party , the Nazis. However not unlike the current Taliban or Putin having an opposing position was/is a fatal position. Wonder why about 15 mins after the Nazi surrender, they were all gone? All just Germans , no more nazis.
My example was in regards to the German civilians and their compliance (even if they were opposed) as things were out of sight so out of mind. Much like today with the influx of social media, people dying just doesn't matter much (in the grand scheme of things) until we're tripping over the bodies...

couldnt get it running?

(I'm kidding)
Riding the crap out of my KLR. Just made my riding experience that much more enjoyable.

The Harley never ever gave me issues. Just didn’t make sense to pay insurance for something not being used. Plus if i want another one in the future I’ll go and buy something more current

Something that should have been looked into here by now, but hasn't:

We should also have many Canadian mask studies by now.

Let's take the pseudo out of science.

you can't possibly think that they know the results and can calculate every possibility before they landed on the moon or came up with the vaccine.
therefore they put the time and effort in to research all probabilities and possible outcomes, with their super computers.
then they made their best educated guess at the course of action to proceed with.
and yes it is a guess cause unless you are all knowing and all mighty, there is no 100% surety in this world that i know of
it is a probability game and the moon landing could of gone totally different in a second, thank goodness it did not although a lot of people don't believe they ever landed on the moon (conspiracy theory)
and the vaccine might turn out to be more detrimental to future generations than we know now (not saying it is going to be, but there is a small probability that the "experts" overlooked in their research and development.
Either way, i had my shots and don't want anymore. Let nature take its course now.
I would much prefer government start spending more money on health system via technology and automation, as well as better compensation for the people that work the front lines.
Perhaps get some competent managers to make the system more efficient and streamlined and less waste of the budget they are given to work with. (warehouse full of product that is out of date)

I worked for a window company a long time ago and wages weren't great. I asked one long time, very skilled employee why he didn't go somewhere else for better pay.

He replied "I do OK and the owner is a decent guy, comes by and asks about me and my family."

That was when a person wasn't judged a winner or loser by the label on their tee shirt or car.

What is more important to you, money or respect?

Nothing is more terrifying to commerce than content people that don't need stuff to pamper their over inflated egos. Content people don't need designer tee shirts, five dollar coffees with their name on the cup.

Going out for a meal used to be a treat. Now only about half our meals are home prepared.

Money is not respect. We have lost the feeling of satisfaction that comes from doing a job right, getting fair compensation and a sincere thank you.

Buckle up your seat belt. Christmas is a Petri dish for consumerism. Over indulging and guilt buying of stuff that ends up at a garage sale or dumpster. All those kitchen gadgets for a society that is getting further and further away from cooking at home.

Sorry for the hijack but more money isn't the answer. People have become so down graded and numerized that they will cling to any semblance of respect. Conspiracy theories and delusional freedoms give them vain hope of recognition.

At a point , Apollo 13? They were doing timing and calculation in space on a mechanical wristwatch . Omega I think .

My mom grew up quite near the German low risk POW camp in LongBranch , apparently really nice guys that had zero interest in going back to war . Mechanics and machinists , many returned to Canada shortly after surrender.

My aunt lived in a trailer park on the east side of Etobicoke Creek until Hurricane Hazel came along and flooded the place out. She worked at Small Arms doing whatever they did back then. The building is still there.

As a young teenager I recall talking to a German ex-soldier that sadly spoke of being in the trenches with twelve year old boys crying for their mothers. A decent guy as was an ex Luftwaffe pilot I knew. A few decades earlier my uncles would be trying to kill them.

Not all Russians support Putin. There would be some interesting statistics if people could talk freely.

Bit of a moving target , have too much get set on fire , run short - get set on fire .
Many things could be better managed , we will be all set for the next plague

I like your optimism, then I remember we had SARs before COVID and well ah yeah......

The media talking about the wasted money and possible recovery. Is Trudeau is fanning the gun thing as a distraction?

rush rush then wait...full plane from Toronto to Vancouver - very late - now Vancouver to Brisbane is delayed 90 minutes ..at least I can catch my breath. Wearing N95 the whole flight is a bit annoying...but worth it. Not a lot of masks.
Woman in next seat and her husband both caught it before they got their last booster and had a bad case - he's on a puffer now. :(

Never been in a plane taxiiing so fast …..at least the Dreamliner will be more comfortable.

Got my flu shot and was ok for a few days. I've been really sick for a week now. No temp, just cough and really bad sinuses.
Anyone else have bad reaction to it?
