Tmp this sun 15 th just added

What's up guys... I'm the guy with the RSV4. I hear what all of you are saying and I get it... I probably should have been in the beginners group.
I didn't know the track, I didn't know my brake points, corner entry speed, lines, etc... It was my first time at tmp.
I apologize for holding you guys up in the morning and especially for causing you to run off or even almost crash... My bad.

My pace picked up in the afternoon as I got more familiar with the track and I was even passing people.

I won't make up excuses but I guess I really didn't want to be stuck in the beginners group throughout the day.

Anyways, now that I know the track, I hope next time you guys won't have any issues with me running in the intermediate group as I felt my pace was a LOT quicker at the end of the day than in the beginning.

Cheers

It wasn't 100% your fault, I was staying very close to you so I could try and get a good drive/line outa turn 1 to take you on the side straight (wishful thinking anyway). Didn't run off or crash, so no harm done. After our near incident I gave you a little more room for rest of the morning, no issues after that ;)

Hopefully will ride with you again sometime!! I'll need a bigger weapon for keeping up with your RSV4 though :(

I'm pretty sure they cover that in the riders meeting

I was criticized for been in red at Mosport by a rider that came up behind me pretty fast, what he didn't know is that i was having problems with my quick-shifter and my engine spark was been cut by vibration, so I came off the track at the second lap..... once I sorted out the bike

RL Quickshifter?

Mine starting doing that this past weekend at bogie at really, really bad times usually in between 10-14k. Nearly bucked me off twice. Out of curiosity, what did you do to fix it? I can't visually see anything wrong with mine.

Hey, no problem, you're obviously a good rider and you progressed fast. The risk for everybody could have been minimized if you went for a couple of sessions in beginner to learn the track and get used to riding on a track, and then move to intermediate. Yes, at TMP you can do that. Nobody got hurt, so it's all good in the end.

lol yes it is. It has 3 sensitivity settings, I had it on the most sensitive so i moved it to the middle setting and kept doing it, then I finally moved it to the less sensitive setting and its working like a charm.

Also, My shifter lever on my rear set was not properly setup, was missing a couple of washers and all this combined caused the problem.

Start by changing the sensitivity to the less sensitive setting and if the problem continues ensure your rear set and shifting rod are well setup.

It was that easy eh.... good to know. I am using the mid setting right now so I will be sure to give the low setting a go next time I'm out. Thanks!

@ samtheman- I was actually surprised that you came over at first but I did appreciate it. I think I told you all was OK to get ya outta there ASAP, I actually was in total pain :/

I hope to come out in the future for more TD's as my crash shows, I've got a lot to improve on.

Unfortunately no camera footage, the hubby suggested to put a gopro on but I said let's get the first session outta the way.... D'oh!
Lesson learned always record!

Good news is the bike will be easily repaired and won't break the bank.

Bad news is I won't be riding for at least 2 weeks (street or track)

I wouldn't worry about the 2 weeks you'll miss, just be thankful you weren't hurt worse. I know what you mean about not having it recorded---the first time I crashed this summer (and my first time crashing ever), I was recording throughout the day, and on that particular session as I was leaving the pits, I just saw how my camera showed "low battery" and died. I could have stopped and put the spare, but didn't... There goes my first time lost in fractions of a second memory..

Hope you recover fast!

Cool man. Hope to see you out again next time too. Thanks for the videos.

Ya I probably should have done that but wasn't aware I could.
Sorry I causes you to run off man.

No probs, bud, see you next time, that bike of yours is a beautiful beast, for what it's worth, I really enjoyed the sound of it riding behind you for a while :)

samtheman

Did you get your brakes fixed?
Why, gonna take yours to the same mechanic? :)

What you might want to do is post on the Kawi forums and ask what the ultimate brake upgrade for your 2000 ZX6R would be. I vote Brembo RCS19 for the master cylinder, whatever brake lines you fancy (I particularly like the CoreMoto ones currently), find out if you can swap out the calipers for more current ones that have descent pad selection available (I like Vesrah RJL on the track, semi-retarded initial bite, get SRJL-17 for fully retarded initial bite). You've got two sets of rotors, see which ones are in the best condition or hit up MikeyMoto and see if he's got some new ones for your bike :)

Corsara please run in red group at TMP from now on. You're pretty smooth, which makes it easy to pass you and you'll learn more. Instead of playing dodge ball. If a bunch of racers show up you can drop to yellow. :)

You obviously weren't there on Sunday, because: 1) I didn't see you; 2) You didn't see how "smooth" I was on that particular day ;)

I told him this already - He can benefit from tagging along a few fast guys and he is not a danger to have in red.

I will, I will :) Next year. I don't know if I'll go this season anymore, it's becoming quite cold and uncomfortable already, had to switch the house from A/C to furnace today. Time to start loosing that weight too, 25-30lb must disappear by next May, lol :)

gsxr guy is right man... we like to tease you on here but your riding really well, too well to be potentially be caught up in yellow group shinannigans. you've got the desire to improve and the best way to do that is to see what quicker guys are doing first hand. Too bad your on a litre bike, its not the best tool for learning how to track ride. The size weight and power gets in your way of learning throttle control, braking , and corner speed.
