TMP August 22?

Hey Corsara,
I run Dave's Bridgestones and he flips tires all the time. Road tires not recommended because they "rotate" for long periods. Slicks or race DOT's don't last long enough for separation. ( if they do.... Go faster). Lol
You have a liter bike also tire life or heat cycles don't matter lol.

Regarding the tire flipping: I did some more digging in different forums, and encountered in numerous places things like "don't flip slicks", "slicks are bad for flipping", etc.., but none with an explanation as to why not. Also saw many posts with people who've been flipping bridgestones and dunlops for years, so I don't know. To each their own I guess, I personally will put back the wheel I just removed without flipping the tire, but not because I'm convinced it's bad to flip it, I just don't wanna think about it while riding. I'd rather keep an eye and feel for worn tires than imagine all kinds of horrible things happening from carcass splitting, etc.

As for Dunlop DOT's, apparently almost everybody flips them. But then I also found this, which also includes something from Dave Moss...so I don't know about that either. I guess I'm just being conservative today :)

See you Thursday, no it's not gonna rain, it never does when forecast says it will :)

Dang, just saw this. Well, maybe I'll flip the tire after all. Just like I flip my mind every minute or so...grr

Eastern US Michelin rep says you can flip both front and back no worries on their DOTs and slicks....
I'd figure all brands can.

Damn it, what is it with rain on Thursdays these days? Already signed up from last week, I wonder if I can cancel and use that credit for another day...

I've seen much worse for TMP on a few occasions, which also skipped the track. Accidentally, it's the first track day ever, for which I didn't pre-register, hehe. Still going though.

So, I flipped the rear tire, done deal. But typically for me, I won't spare you my final thoughts on the matter: I think the whole idea of flipping tires is flawed, regardless of whether the tire is safe like that or not. Let's take TMP as an example: 8 right and 4 left turns. Also, the more meat there is on the tire, the faster and better it heats, right? So, by flipping the tire, what I accomplished was to put the side with more meat on the right side. So now I not only have only 4 turns to put heat in the left side, but I also have less rubber left on the left, which would further worsen the problem with building heat on the left side. Just my thoughts and logic. Cheers, over and out.

I was willing to take my chances as always, like last time Aug 8th at TMP it was raining everywhere around but the track LOL. I was getting the bike ready to load it on the trailer and I just found out that it's broken and it won't shift higher than 2nd gear: http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforu...ear-After-Installing-T-R-E-Need-Help-ASAP-Pls So I won't be there this time rain or shine

Sorry to hear, don't know what to suggest. But you have a street 03 gixxer 1000, they run great at TMP, you know ;)

Tires are almost at the wear bar and will be changed soon, brakes haven't been upgraded yet, suspension sag hasn't been set for track, and it's got coolant in the rad, plus don't want to risk messing it up. If I knew last week I would've done something about it, now looks like I'll be missing GB with gtam too, was planning to go both Sat and Sun. This sucks big time

I need to be a weather man.
Only job you can be wrong every day and still have a job.

One app says 90%
Other app 40%

Decision will be made in morning.

out of the 4 lefts thy are LOW speed and easy turns. id want the better "side" of the tire for turn 1-2-3 .........ask my old R6 how crashing into turn 1 went lol

That's reasonable, I agree. Speaking of which, I never had to run off on Turn 1, hence never paid attention, but is there a lot of run off space in there?

I'm pretty ******, the forecast was just starting to look better (rain moving from afternoon to mid day, I bet it's gonna be moved to early morning by the end of today).

Oh well, I might have to do 2 days at Grand Bend this weekend then..
