I had a throttle lock it ended up in the garbage, they might be ok on a straight flat road but are a pain on hills I would always have to readjust for speed.I went back to the cramp buster style before I got a bike with cruise control.
Why? I don't use it when riding in a sporting manner but for covering distance I find them invaluable. Real cruise would be better for a lot of reasons but obviously not feasible to retrofit on most bikes.I'm very leery of any kind of throttle lock, and let's be honest that's what a lot of them are.
I have a cramp buster. It's good, but be careful though sometimes it can get in the way at slow speeds and give you an unexpected throttle blip.

Because it's just a lock. If you get into a jam it doesn't know enough to shut off. Just my opinion. Why? The ones I have used, it is easy enough to overpower the lock in either direction. If you manage to come completely off the bike with the lock on, I agree, that is really bad as you have just launched an unguided missile.Because it's just a lock. it maintains speed regardless of inclines, lets you down/upshift as needed, even returns you to set speed if you have to overtake, all by itselfI love me some throttlelock.
It's a wrist saver on the long straight stretches.
One day I'm going to own a bike with cruise control and laugh at my former self.
I adjust the position of the rocker many times during a ride. It is in a substantially different position for in town vs highway vs spirited riding. If I left it in one position, it can make throttle control more awkward/twitchy.I would suggest if you gonna get the crampbuster style don't keep it on your daily ride/commute where you moving through traffic with varying speeds. You could inadvertently accelerate or not be able to roll off if your wrist makes contact. Not something you want in a turn or when the car ahead brakes suddenly. The positioning of the crampbuster on the hand grip is important for safety and comfort. Too high compromises safety and too low is uncomfortable on the wrist.
I got mine from aliexpress for cheap and it does work on the R6 oem grip but I only used it a few times. Again, I wouldn't recommend it for city (GTA) riding/commuting.
