Three laps of Mosport!

I took in the vintage races at Mosport a couple of weeks ago. Didn't take many photos because it was all the same old stuff and I was feeling particularly lazy, anyway.

I rode to the track on my Triumph Thruxton. In addition to the races, a vintage car show was also being held. All the cars were corralled off in a specific area inside of turn eight. I rode over, just to check it out, when a guy stopped me at the entrance. He hands me a souvenir dash board plaque, tells me to ride in and park wherever I want. Then he tells me we all get three laps of the track at lunch time! What a deal!

So, now I was part of their antique and vintage car show with a 2011 Thruxton! Lots of questions and compliments from the show goers.

I've been going to Mosport since I was fourteen years old, so it's only taken thirty four years for me to finally get on the track!

A Corvette burned to the ground on the track Sunday morning.

As if that wasn't enough, there was another fire just north of the property. The local fire department had it quickly extinguished, though.

We were given three parade laps. I reckon there was about one hundred cars...and one motorcycle! Everyone was pretty spread out from turn eight, where we entered the track, to the exit of Moss corner, so we were able to get going reasonably well, about 100kph I guess, then they all got stacked up on the back straight. Looking forward to a track day next year, I think.

Here are a couple more when I stopped at the charming, old mill in Tyrone on the way home.

A great day at the track, a great day for a ride!
