Thought GTA housing prices where high .. this is NUTS

I was thinking that only Hookers and Drug Dealers could afford to live in my neighborhood.

We almost got into a rent controlled 3 bedroom apartment for $275 a month, years ago at Birchmount and Lawrence.
But my wife was becoming the wrong type of doctor at the time, so we weren't going to make enough.
Looked out the back and you should have seen the cars.

Was in Vancouver this summer and when we flew in on the Saturday we saw a decent looking 2 floor detached house for sale, when we were leaving on Wed, the same house had sold.

We looked up the ad online and saw that it had sold for $3.6M after being listed at $2.8
...honestly looked like the typical offering you could score in the GTA for around $750k.

GF's brother pays $1300/mth rent for a 500sq/ft apartment about 10min outside downtown Van.
He also works at the Fairmont residences hotel and said that an "entry level" condo that's around 800sq/ft will run you about $1.3M

He took us into an empty unit up on the 46th floor to see what 1200sq/ft and $3M will get you. ...the view was INCREDIBLE though!
