Found this video that shows the worst case scenario when texting while driving.
The dude doing the commentary is quite funny but the idiocy of the other driver and their lack of concentration is what p!sses me off. I know some people out there have the motor function and ability to text while driving, but why do people continue when they KNOW they're all over the road?! o_O

Think it would be better if we couldn't text while driving. I know some people think they can do both effectively at the same time but honestly driving should be all you focus on. I still text when I'm at a red light though but even then I should be paying attention to what is going on around me.

In all fairness, how do we know the driver was texting? From that video we could assume the driver suffered a heart attack or aneurysm or was getting a hummer.

In any event the driver should have not been on the road.

Ah yes. The idea of the law is great. But now the people who refuse to give up texting while driving just hold their phone in their lap to hide their texting. This is probably more dangerous than what they did before, e.g. holding the phone up by the wheel.

Yea totally, tried it once on a side street and it was scary. Also since getting my touch phone last year I find that it's even harder to text than actual buttons. No more texting for me though. Got to cut out the red light texting too cause it's not worth the ticket. If it's that important the person messaging you would calling you and not texting...

Could have been an over-tired driver too... We've ALL driven when we were too tired to be doing it.
Maybe the guy was diabetic and didn't manage it well that day.
Not necessarily texting... You would think that if you were texting and noticed you were all over the place like that, you would stop texting.

^had to finish my shift early cause of that the other day. Couldn't keep my eyes open and you can't sleep on the job so I called it in to the dispatcher and made them stay on the line with me until I got back to the office.

IDIOT filming!!! OMG OMG OMG - dullard! Dial 911 before any of this crap happens

If he was texting that whole time than he has to be the stupidest person in the world to not stop...just like others in here, I think it was something worse than texting. Drunk, stroke, sleepy, etc...

So you know you shouldn't be doing it and it's illegal but you keep doing it?

what a brilliant idea!!!

I'm glad others caught on. The guy filming this all is an even bigger moron.

Wait why? Do you think that if he had called the police they would have been there in time? Then he would get in trouble for calling while driving :D

Nothing he could do at that point other than enjoy the show.

I said I don't do it while driving cause I think we shouldn't be doing it... I said I should stop doing it when stopped at a light cause it is illegal. I don't want a ticket.

Not perfect, no one here is... if we were we would all be saints. At least I can admit when I do something wrong...

I'm thinking they were drunk.

Finally got home and watched the vid and it totally looks like a driving under the influence case... Witnessed something similar last week on Bayview.

You dont get in trouble for calling 911 while driving. Plus wherever this is the description mentions that texting is not yet illegal there possibly meaning they dont have any anti cell phone laws. At any rate here on ontario its better to just dial *opp since theyll just transfer you to the apprriate police department and it doesnt lockup your phone like calling 911 does.
