Samsung doesnt care. $1B fine but how many billions in profits by ripping off Apples success?

Won't it force Samsung to decrease the price of their products and be a win for the consumer?

I believe that Microsoft made a killing doing something similar. Remember what was supposed to be O/S 2 lite?

Samsung stock in Korea fell like 7%. I don't think they're pulling items off the shelves but it will delay any products they were going to release.

and oh please Apple....they only stole everything they sell save for their OS.

Look at Kelloggs....a box of cereal called "Frosted Flakes" right next to Kellogg's Frosted Flakes in the supermarket and not a single ****** was given...lol
 
Any company that has good legal advice will patent everything imaginable, you never know what people can make money off of. Smart corporate decisions.
 
Samsung was given the opportunity to licence these technologies from Apple. They declined, and now they got hit with a $1B fine.

Microsoft was presented with the same opportunity, and they took it. Don't see Apple suing MS for the same stuff ;)

this is the typical mentality of apple users!!! your apple products are made in other countries NOT HERE!!! Plus Samsung is planning on investing another 3B[1]!!! Not sure if they will do it now. and fyi touchscreen technology (which is used everywhere) was invented in the UK in the 60's. Dont get me started on these things.

Apple is at least based out of North America.

Don't be such a fanboi. Apple was first to the plate, they created the smartphone market as we know it. And the tablet market. Their competitors were given a chance to licence these technologies but they didn't wanna pony up. Tough luck!
 
It's all good and deserved if a company just blatantly copies someone's hardware (which I think Sam to a degree did) ..... but to be able to patent a vanishing slider software feature???? ..... this is what is wrong with today's US patent laws. It's ridiculous.

Wakey wakey, everything is made in china. The good, high paying intellectual jobs are in America however .
And its based in America.
Thanks for pointing out the Japanese/Koreans didnt invent the touch screen either.

What i don't get is why juries decide IP cases. They have none of the background, and yes, some of them feel like this "lets side with the american company" garbage.
