Thinking about a Sena bluetooth

i picked up a U-CLEAR in Guelph at the dealer there, never read anything about it, but it seems to be ok so far iv'e owned for a couple of months
They were supposedly the best choice for sound, if listening to music was you main reason to purchase, but now scala has the JBL speakers and they seem to really be pushing that, so I wonder how the sound compares....

but I can't get the Shure earphones to fit properly in that helmet without carving grooves in my skull after a few hours of use.

Probably a really dumb question, but you're wearing the Shure's the correct way, right?

I only ask because, well....for the few days I had mine I had them installed backwards (left on right side, right on left side) in my helmet. In the rush to get them in my ears before each ride and after each stop I didn't even notice as how they fit in your ears was a little unintuitive to begin with, with the cords pointing up and forward (to loop over your ear) seeming wrong compared to what I expected. The only symptom was that they weren't staying in my ear canals as a ride wore on.

It was only after I changed the earbud pieces from the foamies that came installed to the rubber ones that were in the accessory kit that I stared at them for a few minutes and realized the reason I was having trouble keeping them in my ears was because I had them on the wrong sides.

I swapped them over and it was night and day difference...and now nothing protrudes from my ears at all so they wouldn't be touching the inside of any helmet whatsoever.

Fair question because you never know... mine actually have L & R marked on them. I've worn over the ear monitors for many years, and it's just the helmet.

I have the clear ones, and best as I can see there's no L/R marking anywhere on them (I looked LOL) which is why I asked. ;)

I'll admit I felt like a dumbass when I realized what I'd done, but once I swapped them side to side, night and day difference on how well they stay in my ears now.

Depends on which tips you use as to how well it tucks in the ear. With the Westone tips which I like most the 215s stick out a bit ...just have to do one side at a time to get the helmet on but fine when it's on. I use a small bag of earplugs to keep them in place and a good seal ...where the in helmet speakers usually sit.
Shane must have a tight fitting helmet - I know if I don't get them in position the behind the ear wires hurt after while. The new cables I got are better.
