think it'd be awesome if canada got it's "autobahn"?

I read an article .............be implemented

A lot of people seem to think that Ontario ceases to exist at the edge of the GTA.

The 100km/hr speed limit in the GTA is perfectly adequate and in fact most times traffic congestion renders the actual speed limit unattainable so the point is moot. However, outside of the GTA there are many areas where the 100km/hr limit is painfully low. There's no reason why the speed limit could not be 120km/hr in rural areas, and 100km/hr in urban areas. To the West of the GTA, set the limit at 120km/hr after Milton but have it reduced again to 100km/hr for KW, Woodstock, London (anywhere that there is likely to be more merging traffic, etc). To the East of the GTA set the limit at 120km/hr after Oshawa but have it reduced again for Bowmanville, Cobourg, Belleville, etc.

I do agree that we need better driver training.

get outside the GTA and mass transit is non existant. rail lines have been pulled up, GO transit should be renamed, they don't service Ontario, they service with in an hour of the GTA and Hamilton. Lowering the speed limit would have people getting in more collisions from being inattentive a few year's back a study was done and the findings were that the 401 would be safer if everyone did 130KM/H on it.

More importantly..when you're doing 220kmh and you hit a fog bank, do you slow down? Or keep going??? If you slow down you might get hit in the back..it's scary..
First choice would be to take the next exit. or I'd pull over to the shoulder and hope that no one else thinks to do the same. I'd even risk being stuck in the grass if that meant I could be off the shoulder, too.

That's actually a real dilemma. lol who would've thought...

My brother lives in the mountains in southern Germany..and the fog there is pretty bad at times..and he takes the autobahn to work..some days man.. I was driving to go skiing in Austria and suddenly you're in epic fog..like, you can only see 10 or 20m in front of you. Fortunately I was going uphill and went through the fog pretty quickly. Here we have 1 or 2 fog days a year..there it seems to be weekly.

Flow of traffic is like a river if an object is too slow it blocks the flow of current if it is too fast it has to dodge obstacles
