I LOVE food. And judging by the response from the Beef Jerky thread I have came to the conclusion that a bunch of you guys love food as well. My GF and I are big on trying all kinds of cuisines asian, indian, island whatever it may be we take every oppurtunity to try something new/different. So I thought it would be cool if people could share some of their favourite dishes, post pictures and possibly even recipes if you are feeling generous.

I'll get this thread going with my breakfast this morning. Lamb/Veal Burgers. 50/50 mix of the two meats, garlic, onion, mint, some bread crumbs and 2 eggs.

Any comments on grass fed beef? I tried it and it cooks differently and tasted different. I liked it but the wife wasn't impressed. It's supposed to be better for you and the environment.

^^^I'd love to get ahold of some grass fed beef/steaks, since they pack a much better flavour.

I'm always trying new dishes out so this should be a fancy thread for me :)

Grass fed is good. Although I know some people find the flavour different and possibly off putting. I guess some people have trouble stepping out of their comfort zone.

Those look like nice burgers! - I've been eating home made egg wraps for breakfast almost every morning lately - some scrambled eggs, fried up bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and add some garlic and cheese in the wrap with a couple of slices of tomato.

I've also got lots of venison ATM from last years hunt(Group got 3 deer)
This year we decided to get the butcher to make some pepperette sticks from the meat as well along with the normal cuts we get and are they ever good!!! MMMM
How much does it usually run to get the butcher to make that kind of peperette given you provided the meat?

Created these on Saturday night for an appetizer.

Cubed granny smith apples (can use any kind) pan fried with sage & butter or olive oil.

Sausage (I used hot italian) cut into bit size pieces.

sausage + apple cube held together with a toothpick = YUM!!!

Oh btw Freestyle, I just realized I have the same BBQ as you, though mine's a 240..

Hi5

Hi 5!!! It came with the house I am renting. But I intend on it coming with me to the new house.

Szechuan chicken tonight with white rice.

Chicken breast, mushrooms, bamboo, onion, soy sauce, sugar, schezuan peppers some water... garlic and ginger. Yummy.

I can honestly say that even the smell of it makes me vomit, let alone the taste.

Perhaps that time I got ground lamb it wasn't rotten, because it sure as hell smelled rotten. I have had lamb chops covered in rosemary and I didn't find that too bad, but that ground lamb just about me me vomit.

To the OP, those must have been very DRY burgers, where's the fat? I was always taught that to make a good burger, you had to have good fat. When I make my burgers from scratch it's always 50/50 regular ground beef and ground pork, plus that other stuff.

LOL not sure what you mean wheres the fat? It was dripping with it. You should have seen the plate I brought the burgers in on. And they were nice and juicy. Needed more salt though...

Oh nice. I figured since those two meats are very lean, that they would be very dry. I made burgers with just extra lean beef once, and there was not a drop of flavour to be found, even with the spices I put in.

Did they have a strong lamb taste? I could see trying this maybe to make a "Greek" burger with some tzakiki (sp?, sorry) and feta.
