How do you like yours having had it for a little while now? I really like these S10's.
I like it, put about 15k km on it so far (45k km total on the bike) and it's been solid. For what I was looking for, no other bike checks as many boxes. The only other model I seriously considered was the current gen R1200GS/GSA, but they were priced around $20-22k for equivalent year/mileage to my Tenere that I picked up for $11k.
Pros
- ADV bike
- Rock solid on the highway loaded down with 3 cases and dry bags
- Shaft drive (cannot overstate how nice it is not to even think about a chain)
- Cruise control
- Decent power
- Yamaha reliability, with cheap Yamaha maintenance
- Electronic suspension is neat
- Build quality and attention to detail is befitting a bike that retails for close to $20k
Cons
- She's heavy, it's not the end of the world, and it rides fine when moving, but you do feel it in a parking lot.
- Stock fuel injection (supposedly flash helps...) is herky jerky at lower rpm in sport mode
- Could use more power. Definitely doesn't feel slow, and has more than enough ooomph to move even loaded down. Could use more though, GS is lighter and makes 20HP more.
no luggage, but still a very good deal
The stock luggage is usable but not great, I wouldn't consider it a huge selling point. I sold mine for $400 when I upgraded to Givi Trekker Outback's.
