Is that the one from Amazon earlier in the thread?
Is it even possible to get one yet I would assume it might be after all this timeIs that the one from Amazon earlier in the thread?
I like it.
I'm tempted to pick up one of these...but not sure as reviews are that it's 'not a cheap OMEGA, but an expensive SWATCH'...

Can you find one for msrp? I don't see them appreciating in value (especially for a far over msrp purchase price). Interesting concept though. Personally, I wouldn't get one. If I want a moon watch, save for a real moon watch (that will appreciate). The officially sanctioned knock-off is weird to me. Also ticking second hand on a $400+ watch (especially one copied off the moonwatch) doesn't bring me joy.Is that the one from Amazon earlier in the thread?

On the Moonswatch it really is a love it or hate it thing. No doubt it is an expensive Swatch, a premium is paid for the Ω and Speedmaster on the watch. Some feel the value is not there, some feel it democratizes the Speedmaster for the masses. Like everything in life, premium is not directly proportional nor 100% causation to value. Is that the one from Amazon earlier in the thread?

I am considering getting them for the kids and wife. There are models that are hard to get but we were there Saturday night (Eaton centre) and they had Mars and Uranus (the ones the kids like, but I did not pull the trigger) and a couple of other models in stock. Is it even possible to get one yet I would assume it might be after all this time

Yes, apparently much easier to find now, but as @backmarkerducati mentioned some are harder to find than others. I see people trying to post them for $500 on the watch FB group and they get mocked out of there as they're not so hard to get.Is it even possible to get one yet I would assume it might be after all this time

Good call...maybe just saving for it over long term is the way to go. I'm not buying this thing to 'appreciate' in price, but just for me. Kids are too young still, but as @backmarkerducati it could be a good option for the kiddos as they get older. Can you find one for msrp? They definitely hit the ball out of the park with this thing. Good way to drive traffic to their stores as they weren't (maybe still aren't) available online. On the Moonswatch it really is a love it or hate it thing. As for value/cost, you can get a metal cased Swatch Chrono with a Tachometre like the Speed Up or Night Flight for much less money. Or look at a Pagani Design for even less money. Or really any quartz based chronograph...
Or another way to look at it, at the current $320 CDN price point, they are pretty much selling as many as they can make.... So someone got it right (maybe they even went too low?) from a business/supply/demand perspective.
An upside to the Pagani is then you can legitimately tell people you own a pagani. Button down shirt with a few buttons open and chest hair poking out and red shoes and people may believe you have this. Make sure to turn up the accent when you are talking.Yes, apparently much easier to find now, but as @backmarkerducati mentioned some are harder to find than others. I'll have to look into the ones you mention (in bold) as I'm not familiar.
A caution on metal Swatches, they use an integrated bracelet/strap design (not standard lugs), I see this as a big negative as you can't just swap it out when it breaks or if you want a different look or feel.Yes, apparently much easier to find now, but as @backmarkerducati mentioned some are harder to find than others. You can imagine my confusion when you and @crankcall were talking about a Caterham...watch...not car I assume. An upside to the Pagani is then you can legitimately tell people you own a pagani. Caterham is a car. In my mind, if you say Super 7, far more people will think car than watch (same for pagani). I could be wrong though. You can imagine my confusion when you and @crankcall were talking about a Caterham...watch...not car I assume.
Wait...so the new 'toy' for @crankcall is the Caterham CAR?! Effing ballers in this thread.Caterham is a car. In my mind, if you say Super 7, far more people will think car than watch (same for pagani). I could be wrong though.
No, he bought the watch. I wanted the car.Wait...so the new 'toy' for @crankcall is the Caterham CAR?! Effing ballers in this thread.
For whats its worth , I drove an actual lotus super 7 , not the catterham , its a frightening thing , very lightly builtd
That's some roadrunner level luck.Former coworker got hit by a transport truck on the QEW in his Caterham Super 7. He climbed out of it without a scratch (car was a write-off). The driver of the transport was killed in the accident.
The planets, the stars, and some puckered buttholes all lined up that afternoon. That's some roadrunner level luck.
