I think he meant that he's going to injure himself really badly. He's had some pretty messed up crashes this year already.
There is no doubt he is one of the best riders right now.

He had a few moments and decided the championship was more important than the race. I don't see how that equates to getting his *** handed to him. If Lorenzo wins, Marquez only needs to get fourth. Do you really think there are two other riders capable of beating him?
Poor MM. It will almost be impossible for him to win the last race. Lorenzo has to win... MM has to finish. If he wins it will be an amazing accomplishment.
If a 3 second gap at the finish line means he had his *** handed to him then whoever finishes 2nd gets his *** handed to him almost every race.
In fact both riders did exactly what they needed to, and MM is in a BETTER position now than he was before the race since now there is only 1/2 as many opportunities for JL to make up ground, but he clawed back LESS than 1/2 the points gap to MM.

I don't see Marquez squandering the championship. He'll take it barring something catastrophic, or he chokes completely.
If he keeps making silly errors, yes. He tried desperately to catch Lorenzo at Motegi. This is MotoGP, one error means no finish. I think Lorenzo is faster right now with that new transmission, and he definitely is more consistent. Marques was quick this season, but he was also really lucky on more than one incident.
Pedrosa was following orders in Motegi, but he was faster.

He crashed pretty heavily on Saturday. There are some rumors he has damaged his shoulder.

Even still, I don't see Marquez finishing anything less than 3rd. Worst case scenario (if he doesn't crash), he'll finish behind Lorenzo and Pedrosa. We all know by now Rossi can't keep up with the 3 Spaniards.
Rossi is done. He's no where near the pace of Lorenzo. MotoGP these days favors a really compact body type to get into those ridiculous lean angles, Rossi is just too tall.
Marquez is really young, the pressure on him is massive. Lorenzo has got nothing to lose by going all out in Valencia. Either way, motoGP2013 has been one of the best seasons ever, certainly more exciting than Snormula Yawn.
