the Judges wrath

I don't see a problem with it, but thats just my opinion. The way kids are now and the way society is going, is horrible. You know why you get **** head kids robbing each other for baseball hats and gang beatings? Its cause parents dont disipline their kids. And if someone tries to, the parents take the sides of their "little angles" who could never do something bad.

Our government is soft on crime, parents are soft on their children. Society has gone soft. When I was in highschool you NEVER heard of gang beatings, or rapes or robberies, now its a daily occurence. Whats the difference?

Lack of DISCIPLINE!

You never heard of it because it was probably hussed/covered up. Just the same for all the stories of these college teachers that are appearing in the news recently, **** like that was happening back in the "good old days" but was swept under the carpet.

please dont have children if you actually think thats acceptable.

theres a huge difference between spanking your child, and Beating them. what that goof did was abuse.

I was also smacked with a wooden spoon ( seems to be a good choice back then ) but looking back on it now, i dont think of it as abuse.

also, i dont think my mom enjoyed it. that judge seemed to like it a little too much if you ask me.

I've gotten worse, at a much younger age. I remember getting the belt buckle instead of the leather strap. Mom would use what ever was around, so I knew every time I was sent home from school I'd hide absolutely every blunt object; especially after the hockey stick incident. But my mom was resourceful even if I thought that I hid ever thing, she'd unscrew the coax cable from the TV.

I experienced both as a kid.
I got the spanking to the rear. Open palmed, the belt or the spoon. However, eventually it lost it's effect when I hit about 12/13. (was NOT a good idea to laugh when that spoon broke FYI)

But, I also experienced the bad. Beatings with steel chairs, closed fists, full out kicks, choke holds etc. Even sent to school one day with a fractured rib, two black eyes, busted lip and blood coming out the nose. That one was because the dog escaped the back yard and I got lippy about the hole under the fence being my fault.
I was a damn good kid. Never smoked pot, my mom let me drink and I think I only called once that I needed to be picked up, got good marks, did my work around the house and was a pretty quiet guy. Sure, I deserved a back hand here and there, but I sure wasn't a lippy, smart *** kid!

Spanking is ok. I'm talking bent over, a couple quick whacks and that's it, off to your room. I think a lot more kids needed that.

As for beating, that is a no go. Once it's out of nothing but anger and frustration it's gone too far... This video is too far.
Not only is the girl taking enough lashings, the crap being said to her is bound to F her head up even more.

"take it like a real woman" isn't really the kind of respect you want to teach your 16 year old daughter. That just guarantees she will put up with an abusive partner.

I GUARANTEE you, that this jerk off also beats the wife. Just listen to the things she says to her kid. Sounds like she thinks it's the woman's role to be a punching bag doesn't it?

I lived that life already, it's clear as day to me!

This guy needs to be stripped of his "power" and do a bit of time. I'm sure his new friends would LOVE to take care of him.

The video makes me want to go hug my parents. I'm sorry to the peeps on this thread that took abuse.

It's too bad the statute of limitations has passed. That guy should be in jail, and I'm sure the whole episode f'ed up his daughter.

I would use corporal punishment on my own child, but only really minor kinds (spanking w/ no other objects) and would definitely prefer to use time outs, 1-2-3 magic, etc. If, like the grandfather story, it's to warn your child about a behavior that could harm them, then I think it's ok. I think the whole point is to do it to children who are to young to be reasoned with.

Society is not getting worse, contrary to what the present day government wants you to believe and so they can build more jails. "Getting tough on crime" is an oximoron. Growing up I saw a lot of kids who got brutaly hit by there "loving" parents and all they ever learned was that who ever had the biggest stick won, and still some of them did end up in jail, some did not.

REmember in the really good old days, rape and pilaging was an acceptable way of travelling.

The guy definitely lost his cool and that's no way to discipline your child. The mother is a dumb twat. Texas judge or not, they're lucky they didn't do that in front of me. I'm still sporting a bent toe from the time I took a late April swim in the river (with the only negative consequence suffered being the beating and the accompanying fracture), so I take a hard line on child abuse.
