Gold bars are heavy and can smash zombie heads quite effectively. BLUE_KAWI knows exactly what he's doing.
I just use leaves, that's why I stuff my shirt and pants full of them whenever I can.
China and India and other large nations are stockpiling both. They know the FIAT ponzi scheme cannot last forever. Germany asked for the their gold back from the USA and the USA said you'll get it in 7-10 years. LOL!

I do recall reading in a major publication that China is acquiring a lot of precious metals.
Due to the oil embargo/sanctions on Iran, China found a way around it by paying for oil in Gold rather than US$ and as such the Iranian's can back their paper currency by Gold.

I lived through a financial and FIAT meltdown, saw the empty store shelves and experiences your money being turned to worthless paper in weeks. Trust me when i tell you i dont wish that on anyone, but its coming.
It hasnt become "popular" per se, but people see a system that cannot survive in its form and no politicians that are willing to do the hard decisions. At this point, with the situation the entire world is gonna feel it, but its the only way for anything to happen. Hitting the little X on your window is what is being done while the entire system needs a hard reboot and format.
My only concern is what happens after. Who comes out on top and what is their agenda...

More and stricter control, more big brother, more militarization of police and oppression of people. Desperate people will believe anything that is promised to them, no matter how empty that promise sounds to a level headed person.
The most evil and corrupt people use these moments in human history to rise to power.
Stalin, Hitler, Mao, basically all dictators (unless puppet dictators placed in power by CIA) used a socioeconomic stirrup to gain power.
