$40g's for a Focus? At the end of the day, no matter how you slice it and dice it, its still an econobox.....

I'll wait for the $40k Fiesta, thank you :p

If they had those prices on the Z when i went shopping for my frs, i would have chosen the Z in a heartbeat. Despite its weight, the power to weight is great for the price bracket its in.

I would have forked out the extra 3 grand over the frs in a heartbeat.

I know the FRS claim to fame is its light weight, but IMO the Z is a lot more car, which is why its priced in another category entirely. At 29k? Easy choice between the two.

I agree. If only they did this a year ago when i was car shopping.

So chevy is releasing a 4 cyl. turbo model for the Camaro.

Gonna be an interesting bout between the Ecoboost mustang especially since everything I've heard from ecoboost owners has been positive.

GM makes the worst 4cyl engines on the planet, remember the Quad4?

Not sure why anybody would buy a Camaro or a Mustang without a proper V8.....

The Mustang is a global car now so the 4 might be targeting other markets. Gas is cheap here compared to most EU countries.

Then theres the tuner market. You can probably get the ecoboost to v8 power levels with less than $2-3k.

The Ecotec LTG (the turbo 2.0 litre 4 cyl with 270-ish HP) shares NOTHING with a Quad 4. It has already been around for a few years, and it was a Wards 10 Best engine when it came out (2011-ish).

The 4-banger Camaro is likely lighter and with better weight distribution than the V8. I'd probably opt for the non-turbo V6, though.

Not a fan of the mail-slot windows. I like that the car is smaller and lighter (although not by enough). Outward visibility doesn't appear to have improved.

The Camaro does absolutely nothing for me ever since the re-introduction.

My buddy bought one when they came out and for such a large car on the outside you sit in it and go "WTF? Wheres all the space?!"

The new Mustang on the other hand...yuuum.

^^^this.

Why waste money on a Camaro when you can get a Vette? So you can get the big bad 4cyl?

Even though the v6 models are finally making good power, I could never buy one of those cars with anything but a v8. Its just strange.

Finally.

Edit: I too wouldn't buy a T4 or V6 Mustang or Camaro. But that's just personal choice. When you're in the market for those styled cars, go big or go home.

Though I met a guy who had a 2015 V6 Mustang with a Roush exhaust and it sounded pretty mean.

But its still a V6!

lol, its the stigma

Now, the new ecoboost stangs with nothing but a software reflash will run as fast as the 5.0's, but they still sound like ***.

Finally.

I wouldn't put too much stock in a 'Wards' engine list. They are the equivalent to MotorTrends ridiculous 'Car of the Year' award where MT once named the Chevy Caprice as 'car of the year' lololol

Wards named a 3cyl ecoboost engine as one of its top engines for 3 years in a row. Yay, a 3cyl turbo from an econobox. Amazing!

Ward's engine awards aren't simply to the most powerful or biggest - that's different from being the most technologically advanced. The Ford 1.0 Ecoboost is an interesting and technologically-advanced engine. Anyone can make more power by making an engine bigger. That's not worthy of an award.

All of the Camaro's engine choices are interesting. I'm just not interested in a car that I can't see out of (and the Camaro is far from the only one with that problem nowadays).
