Where the **** are you getting that info from? Stunting on public roads is frowned upon, closed course stunting is pretty much awesome
+1, I don't know where you're getting your info from. I get a reward from doing it, it's called an accomplishment- a thrill. I don't "stunt" but do know how to wheelie...sorta.
If you want to learn how to wheelie, first off, look at your bike....shiny bike!!!! Picture it all scratched up because you may just wreck your bike trying to wheelie- it's a risk you have to be willing to take.
Second, it depends on what type of bike you own. I would not recommend wheeling in first gear as it's very twitchy on the throttle and you have a higher chance of looping.
Third, USE THE CLUTCH! Don't power wheelie, you build up speed too fast and I find by using the clutch you have a lot more control to bring the wheel up.
Four, always cover the rear brake.
I'm still learning myself and started getting a feel for what the "balance point" is really all about and without having to bang through the gears to chase the wheelie.
Start slow and even when you get good, don't do these on busy roads like the meathead doing one on the 400.
