I got the idea from another thread about a Montreal school sending home an 11 year old because she wore a Senators hockey jersey to school instead of the local team jersey.

So, what have you folks have to contend with dealing with your school and the TDSB.
Please provide details such as:
1. year this occured
2. issue, what happened
3. school
4. principal
5. teacher
6. TDSB officials
7. results from the situation

Please keep it civil.

If you can find a school board worth anything, let me know. Our school systems are broken .

Never dealt with them but from what I hear they like to waste tax payers $$

You mean like charging/paying $200 to install a manual pencil sharpener.
The sharpener with 2 screws holding it to the side of a wooden object usually just above the garbage can.

I was listening to some people talk about their encounters.

The best part of that story is that the owner of the sens sent a limo to her house and brought her to the next game in Ottawa.

I cant remember the year, one day my daughter age 5-6,came home saying the teacher took her snack saying it wasnt nutricious and asked if other kids had anything to share with her,it was a slice of pizza, well I loose it and storm off to see the principal who proceeds to say it was the teachers call on the subject,I have hated the scool system from then till now.

kidding ;)

I mentor a high school robotics team, and TDSB has been a great help with finances and organizational issues. Does this count?

Yeah just like that stuff.. $200 for a pencil sharpener, thats just not right.

Worked for the TDSB for 28 years+ Since they amalgamated things went downhill to the sewer.
Middle management where made up from unskilled to a#*e kissers.(Maintenance Dept)The skills trade used to be made up from the best. With middle management running trades, moral went to the dogs.
They have Teachers and Support staff who actually care for the kids and are proud of their work. When it was run as separate areas, City of York, etc it was like a Family. Everybody knew everybody, Vp/s, to the Director always had their door open. We all gave 100% of ourselves and loved our work.

This is almost word for word what others have said.

Can you provide some examples?

.

Caretakers who became middle management. An example is they where lazy and got promotion.
Then they started chasing the skilled trades and where in no position to tell them what to do. They did not know the trades and where not trained in the position they held.
Consequently, had absolutely no idea how to respect people. Thought that their ****** did not stink. Hence the moral being the worst ever and still getting worse.
Obviously, not all are rotten. Their are some who actually care about their fellow trades people. Not many though.

Funny how trades always get the bums rush in this country. The engine of the Eurozone (Germany mostly) has huge respect for trades and it shows. Now that Ontario is ramping up with the new Ontario College of Trades maybe things will change. Maybe.

Very good point. The TDSB could never make their mind up as regards to the trades. One minute they opened classes for the skilled trades. Then they closed them and went to computer skills. Kept bouncing between the two and the Students could never make their minds up. How could they?

Sorry OP, this seems to gone in another direction. As a side bar it is not that far off your post, I hope.

That's fine.
That's the impression I get is there are people in positions that are clueless and just make stuff up on the fly.
