TD Meloche..........

WTF!? How the hell do they justify this? Did you have any claims or whatnot?
Yes, as I said in my earlier post , a Neighbors tree fell on our house 2 1/2 years ago, no fault of our own. It was about a $40,000 dollar claim. It took the insurance company just over a year to show up to start the repairs and another year to complete. I’m very disappointed in the service I got and would not recommend TD Melloche Monnex to ANYONE! The .did structural repairs without required permits and replaced a third of my steel roof that doesn’t match the rest of the roof.Zoom in on the green metal roof and you’ll see what I mean.I had to go up into the attic to find the multiple rafters that were cracked. Their adjuster and contractor “overlooked” them after numerous requests to have them inspected.E9D31B94-B2AD-4CE9-BC8A-F6472F374CF6.jpeg

I would be fuming with all parts of that process. The delays, the awful match, everything. grr. Even if they pushed back on redoing the whole roof, as a minimum, the entire plane needs to match.

EDIT:
Did they not fix the eavestrough?

Sorry I missed that @Bobo! That’s frustrating as hell considering the issues and delays.

100% I’d be shopping to go elsewhere.

Yes, it’s been fixed.

I left TD MM years ago when they kept raising rates year after year with no reason.

I've had TD on everything for years. TD direct that is; no Meloche BS. That's a completely different company. I've had a few claims and could not have asked for a better experience with all of them. That's why I've stayed with them.

Oh, and here’s the icing on the cake.We dealt with over 13 different adjusters from TD over the two year period. There were more but I lost count at 13. With every new adjuster it was like starting all over again. Apparently they’re all on short term contracts and my claim just kept getting passed along. It was painful.

We’re insured with TD Meloche Monnex . Just got the renewal documents and our home insurance went up 63% ( about $1700).
Are you in Florida or LA?

More seriously, a lawyer, speaking about LA, says if your home is burned to the ground your taxes are reduced to the land value. Unfortunately down there that's 2/3 the value.

Your mortgage payments are still in effect but you might be able to defer them but interest accrues. If your insurance was cancelled you're out of luck. On top of your mortgage you now have to pay rent. Hopefully your workplace didn't burn down and you have a job.

Yes, I saw that too and no I’m not in Florida or LA. I’m in Brooklin.

Boo. If mine is like that next time, I will be shopping around. Ours was a 10% bump. Insurance plus property tax is quickly rising to the point of exceeding "affordable housing" thresholds for many people. That's without the house, land or utilities. We're over $10 a day for home insurance and $20 a day for property tax right now and things are escalating quickly.
Property tax and insurance is over 20g a year now it is getting a bit crazy.
