TCX X-Square/X-Cube Boots fiasco

I'm looking for some insight on what to do.. the story goes like this.

I bought TCX X-Cube boots as my daily motorcycle boot last season, but where I ordered them from, they sent me the X-Square (lower in the lineup) instead. I don't remember what online store I got them from but this was shortly before the whole Canada Post strike.. I have the email at home I'm sure.

I returned the X-Square boots, but then Canada Post went on strike and the store never received them. They told me they would wait and charge my credit again for the correct X-Cube boot and refund my card as soon as the X-Square boots arrived. Well a couple of weeks or so went by, and they never arrived. During the waiting period, I got in to a little debate saying that they should at least refund the difference to my card, because I ordered the X-Cube, but received the X-Square, so refund me the $30 difference at least, in case they never arrive and I'll take the $100 hit compared to $130 (the price of the X-Cube.)

This went back and fourth for a while and finally they refunded me the difference. Then I received the correct X-Cube boots which I never ended up wearing because they are one size too big even though they are a size 12. They're brand new in the box, sitting in the closet.. but then, after the Canada Post strike the X-Square ended back up at my door step, and they're also a size 12, but they fit me so I kept them and have been using those since.

Now, my problem is, I have a brand new pair of X-Cube boots that are one size too big. I would love to exchange them for the correct size, but it's been quite some time.. and after the whole refund argument, I just don't want to deal with that company again.

It's not unheard of where a local store might do the swap for me, I just don't know what store to contact and perhaps they can talk to TCX and do the size exchange avoiding the whole online store. A local car audio shop did a warranty exchange for me because the store I originally purchased from changed owners and were a headache to deal with so I'm hoping, that maybe a store here could do that? Or, could I contact TCX directly?

I want to keep the same boots, they're awesome but just too big! If I sell them on Kijiji, buying the same boot in Canada costs $220 whereas in the US it's $117!

If it was $20-30 difference, sure, but more than $100 is just too big of a hit to justify.

Ah.. I will try that as my last resort!

That was easy, I don't know why I didn't think of that before. :confused3:

Update:

I spoke to www.motovan.com and they are going to honour the exchange as they are the distributor for TCX in Canada!

Most of the time I see this is as the biggest downside of ordering online but it usually always works out OK as I sell mis-sized items online for what I paid for them. Everything I sold has gone within a week this way. I then re-order the correct size and start again. You only really lose out if it's the last item in the inventory...or if you're really impatient.

Let me get this straight, and correct me if I'm wrong. It appears to me that you only paid for one pair of boots. If you paid for two pairs of boots, then please disregard what is written below.

They were the big bad company, because they were reluctant to refund you the difference in boot price, but then when you got a pair for, what is essentially, free, you play the big bad guy, and conspire to dump them on Kijiji instead of returning them?

Your credit card statements should provide who you bought the boots from.

Haha.. love your disclaimer.

I didn't get a free pair of boots.. this is what happened.

I paid for TCX X-Cube boots for $120, they shipped me TCX X-Square boots which are listed as $90.

I sent the TCX X-Square boots back and then Canada Post went on strike; we waited a couple of weeks and they never arrived. They charged me $120 again because I wanted boots but didn't want to wait. They said they would refund the first $120 when they got the boots back. Then I asked them to refund me the $30 at least, because if the X-Square boots did get lost, then I would have paid $120 for $90 shoes that I never got because I sent them back. They didn't see this as a logical thing to do, but finally after going back and fourth they refunded me the difference of $30.

However, the TCX X-Square boots ended up back at my house, as well as the X-Cube so I have two pairs of boots, that I paid for.

It's written right there, the difference being what was refunded of the two boots.

how does the TCX fit & feel on your feet, i was interested in purchasing either the X-Cube Air or the X-Cube Water Resistants. I currently have Vega Merges, their ok but kinda tough and jeans always drag when im not riding

The X-Square are honestly one of the most comfortable boots I've worn. I wear them to work and I never get any aches or pains all day. They're light, they have enough protection; not as much as the X-Cube and the size 12's that I have, fit snug but not tight on the sides, just like the X-Square but they're a little long which is why I want a smaller size.

I have the X-Cube water resistant ones, but now I'll probably only wear them on long rides or keep them as a spare.

Kahuna Power Sports in Woodbridge has a bunch of the X-Cube's in stock if you want to go try them on for size!
