Tank pads

Techspec pads are great, u can get some for the sides of your tank(bike specific) or u can get a sheet where u can cut to a specific shape

Just remember they may scratch or fade your tank where they sit for a long time.
If you care about that sort of thing.

+1, I love my techspecs. I went with the snakeskin Techspecs, and they work incredibly well!

Another vote for TechSpec. I'll be ordering side and rear pads in their C3 material shortly for my GSX-R750.

I suggest you call Techspec (775-783-5110) and ask them for a sample of the C3 and snakeskin materials because you can't decide between which of the two to order. The reason being is because after receiving my own sample, I was convinced that the Snakeskin had more grip, and seemed more durable. I'd say go with the Snakeskin instead of the C3.

Thanks for the advice....I'll do that.

I have tech specs in snakeskin-- love 'em. The adhesive is some sort of magic. Only thing that's sort of weird, they grip better with jeans than with leathers.

+1 my friend bought a 2004 bike and it came with a tank pad on it, he doesnt use tank pads so we peeled it off. And its shape is faded into the tank forever...

I had a customer pick up a Jeep from me that had one of those "Support our troops" magnets on the trunk lid.
He peeled it off and it was completely faded under there...
He put a heat gun to it and it was 90% better.

check out www.immortalgraphix.com lots to chose from...and you can customize....they are great quality as well...I have the taz that says trust me i will go fast...and i got it to match the colour of my bike.

if it's just protection you're looking for, call your local tint shop and see if they've got any scraps of 3M Clearbra. I've got that on my tank where i was afraid zippers would scratch it, and it's held up really well. I got enough to do like 3 tanks, and mine's starting to get scuffed up a bit so I might replace it.

I was initially going for simple tank protection....I hated having to go through a major polishing routine after every 2 or 3 rides. I ordered the 3M material from tankslappers.com, which I have not yet applied since it needs to be warm. Since then I've had a re-think, and decided that a tank grip would suit me best, despite not looking as nice.

I'm actually debating the same thing now (just cleaned up the tank last weekend). Also wondering what would happen if I put on the tankslapper film (not the 3M one) then these on top -- would the 'static cling' be enough to hold both on the bike, or will it just rip off with my pant leg. Reason being, if I decided to get rid of them after a few months I wouldn't want to deal with the left over residue on my tank (getting the stupid dealer sticks off was bad enough).
