Tank Grips; your opinion

What's the best glue/adhesive to re-stick tank pads that have lost their original adhesive?

I want something strong enough, but also removable with zero chance of damaging the paint/clearcoat.

$21.00. Ouch! But I did find another discount. Use the coupon code "CRACKBERRY" and you get an additional 25% off the clearance price. With shipping, that put's it back to the region of list price for the same product on the Tank Tredz site. So, it still might be worthwhile.

Faaaaaaaarq! Where were you 2 hours ago! I just ordered mine at full pop :(

There is a high strength adhesive double sided foam tape available from Canadian Tire, Walmart, etc. that can be used IF your pad is a traditional thick rubber type pad. The foam is thin enough as not to be obtrusive. Come time to remove the pad, use dental floss to saw through the foam. Use a hair dryer to heat the residue and peel carefully off with a soft plastic scraper; this should not mar the paint.

If the pad is like the Tank Tredz being discussed in this thread, they are use-once products.

I will be getting tech spec this yr....stomp grip currently on my bikes is ruining my leathers.

Put on Tech Spec C3 a couple weeks ago. Haven't been pushing it too much in this weather to test the feel in the corners, but it does help with grip to protect the "boys" in quick braking. They are comfortable to grab with the knees, give some vibration protection, and I've had no wear on my Scorpion textile pants. C3 is a bit more subtle looking than snake skin, and they blend in nicely on the black tank. This photo makes them stand out more than real life because of the flash. I ordered the package cut for my bike, but I had to order the closest of the pre-cut centre pads & trim it to fit. They also help protect from scratches. I'm happy.

I found tech spec made my bike feel wider... stomp not so much. As stated they are ruining my leather though. I will be going with the clear thin type next time.

I have the Tech Specs on my ZX6R. No issues and they look great.

I use stomp grips on an 08 CBR 1000RR. I wouldn't buy them for the street, unless you're hard on the throttle, but they are excellent for the track. I really like them during accel/braking, in the corners they are not that useful.

edit: no problems with leathers
