Switched Power Vs. Constant Power.

I have a small one for the car. It blows the car fuse every single time.
I might try with the car running.

Am I the only one who carries a "ten speed bike" hand pump? Cue the klr jokes....

I ended up with what looks like a drill turned into a compressor:

Do you carry that on your motorbike?
I could. It's in the car now. The case is 13 1/2" x 9 1/2" x 3 1/4", so a smaller one or a cartridge thing might be better for a road trip.
I looked into the next battery booster up from what Lightcycle had, since it would power a small compressor, but it's really expensive.

If I need an air compressor at the same time as I cant have a running engine, that's a very bad day. I dont think I want a compressor powered by something other than the bike. More stuff to carry, more things that can fail.

Sometimes less technology is better.

Had to use the battery-booster power bank once on a student's bike. F-n thing had discharged because I hadn't charged it up for over a year and a half. If you're not on top of things like this, better just to carry booster cables. The gauge doesn't have to be that heavy because motorcycle batteries aren't high amperage, so the cables are pretty lightweight and portable anyway...

I keep tire plugs and a 12V Slime pump on board.
It has a cigarette plug, as does the bike.
However, there's no chance any pump will run on our factory cigarette plug outlets.
The factory fuse (3amp) on the vstrom will blow in less than 2 seconds. Up it to a 20-30amp.

I have a small cigarette lighter compressor my dad gave me from Crappy Tire I think. It blows the fuse on the Odyssey.
I don't really want to pull apart the bike to get at the battery just to fill the tires and the bike itself has DIN sockets.
p.s. if you get a flat tire on a bike, it's already a very bad day.

I carry the same pump, but with this. 20A.

Unswitched is for things like theft alarms, clocks, etc, and I suppose if you want to add LED decorative lighting that you want to have on while the bike is parked with you elsewhere.
I put my 12v cigarette lighter socket on unswitched -- I never leave anything in there. It doubles as my charge port should my battery get run down.

Unfused or you just charg slower than the fuse?

Most trickle chargers output much lower than the typical accessory fuse.

Most accessory fuses installed are 5-15A, most trickle chargers are in the 0.75 to 2A range.

In any case, it's easy to just swap out the fuse if you're fast charging at higher amps. But if you're doing that, I'd take the battery out just to prevent a spike from damaging any of the bikes electronics. Just to be safe.
