SW-Motech PRO Tank Bags

Valid point, but I've been using SW-MOTECH tank bags for over a decade (first gen, EVO, Pro) on all my bikes and this never happened to me. That would be the last thing to break on the bike I'd worry about.
I did have a pretty spectacular drop while having on of these Pro City bags on my bike and it was very difficult to get it off. Once I got it off, and cleaned out the spring loaded mechanism it worked perfectly thereafter. So yes it could be a problem, but in my express far, it will be least of your problems that day!

Yes, I also noticed that the latest PRO (magnetic) system sometimes requires a bit of force to remove the bag. But not an issue so far. In case of drop/crash/accident if the locking mechanism gets damaged, most likely you won't need to fill the tank this day :). Agree, it won't hurt to clean the mechanism from time to time.

I have the Givi tank bag with ring system same concept but less cost. Been using it for many years never had an issue. Like the SW Motec, it is water resistant and comes with a rain cover. I spray it with silicon water repellant spray (the kind campers use) which does help somewhat with additional waterproofing. I think the magnetic guide that SW highlights is more of a marketing thing as the Givi snaps in place with no issue. I am sure it works well but so does the Givi system.

I also had a Givi bag for about 10 years and it’s definitely a good system too. I like that it releases a bit faster and simpler than the SWMotech.
The SWMotech bags are higher quality and more durable and I wasn’t sure I wanted spend the extra coin, but I do think they look nicer too when on the bike.
